Candice is cruel, manipulative, and absolutely unapologetic. Her loyalty to the Company is paramount. After the discovery that the rekindled friendship with Elle was just a fraud, she was more than happy to head out of state on a job. But now she's back.
History
Betty had never been one for social conventions. As a child, she read comic books instead of playing with Barbie dolls. At first, her parents were just pleased she was reading and encouraged her, assuming it was a phase she would grow out of. But it became apparent that she had no intention of giving up her hobby. Aside from her comic books, Betty's second great love was food. She was a growing girl, and her parents had no qualms about making sure their daughter had enough to eat. The only problem was that her choices became less and less healthy, and what was merely passed off as baby fat could no longer be ignored for what it really was – Betty was overweight. She continued to prove herself a rebel as she left girlhood behind, growing into a brooding goth with multiple facial piercings. The atmosphere in her home was stifling. Too little, too late, Betty's parents decided it was time to rein in their daughter, which only resulted in a tense home life that the girl wanted to be rid of as soon as possible.
In high school, by now an obese teenager, Betty discovered that she could cause people to see whatever she wanted them to see. Only she could see the truth. Everyone around her was fake. Their hair, their clothes, their smiles, personalities – all of it just an act they put on. Betty could do them one better. She could show everybody exactly what she saw. Now a vengeful girl, the illusionist made sure that those who thought they were above everyone saw where they really stood. Her bitterness cost her her closest friend. With nothing left keeping her in her hometown, Betty staged her most grand illusion yet – she made it appear as though the gym was on fire during a pep rally. People believed they were actually burning alive. Leaving their nightmares behind, Betty made her transformation from pimply social outcast to fair skinned beauty. Candice Willmer was born.
It wasn't very long before Candice became a blip on The Company radar. She was taken in by The Company and placed with the Linderman Group while she continued to develop her ability. She successfully ferreted out Noah Bennett as a traitor to The Company by impersonating his wife Sandra, and subsequently, their daughter Claire. She proved herself to be a valuable asset to the Linderman Group and was instrumental in ensuring the election of Nathan Petrelli. By using her powers to disguise herself as Niki Sanders, Candice was able to kidnap Niki and D.L. Hawkins' son Micah and deliver him to Mister Linderman without incident. Micah's technopathic abilities were used to rig the vote so that Petrelli would win by a landslide. Further proving her propensity for cruelty, she took on the guise of Niki’s alter ego Jessica, knowing the woman’s struggle with her other half. After the death of Linderman, Candice would return to focus full-time exclusively on the Company's interests. Only recently has she returned to New York after an extended job out of state.
Powers and Stunts
Candice is an illusionist. She can make a person see things that aren't there, smell things that aren't real, and feel things that should never be felt. A small icebox can become a deserted tropical island if she so desires it to be so.
CHANGE OF SCENARY
Standing on a cliff while Candice wants you to think you're about to dive into a pool at a four-star hotel? This is the stunt for that sort of thing. Using this, Candice can change the appearance of her surroundings.
FOUR SENSES
This is the ability to affect the other four senses - touch taste sound and smell. This stunt must be rolled in order for Candice to make a person think they believe something more than just on sight: To add the alluring scent of bacon to a nice homey breakfast scene with one's deceased wife and then to feel the warm blood on your hands when she collapses in your arms with her jugular slit open - when you're actually in a Company facility perhaps? Just saying.

YOURSELF
This is what Candice would use if she wanted to change the appearance of another person. Of course that switch would only last while Candice was in the direct line of sight, but for a little while you, yes you, could look like Brad Pitt.
THE WHOLE SHEBANG
This stunt is used when Candice is creating a complete illusion - the background the four senses and her appearance. Unlike the other stunts this one must always be rolled at a difficulty of 'difficult.'
Timeline
- February 2, 2008 - Pointless Torture: Candice decides to have a little bit of fun with Kitty before returning the memory wiped girl to her home.
- March 9, 2008 - What Happens In Chinatown: A troupe of Pinehearst slime start hitting on Candice in Chinatown. She gets a business card out of the deal.
- March 10, 2008 - Illusions of Grandeur: Noah enlists Candice to do a little bit of dirty work not only against Pinehearst, but against her old friend Elle.
