History

Glory Daze

Ivory was born into a well to do family that lived in the middle of the suburbs without a care in the world. Both of his parents were lawyers that spent way too much time working, but still managed to make time to spend with their son. His life was a good one. There were never any money problems. The family was close-knit and stuck together through thick and thin. It was all fairly perfect, which was an oddity in and of itself, to say the least.

As he grew up, he started to take an interest in law, which gave him a lead in to what he would eventually come to be very involved in: Politics. This was a good fit considering that he was the kind of kid that was well-liked in school. From the students to the teachers, even the bullies didn't mess with him too much. It was a very strange experience to be as popular as he was and not seem to really have any problems with anyone in the schools that he attended. Honor Roll, Straight As and everything else that came along with those type things. He was, more or less, Mr. Popular. From elementary and all the way up through college.

By some amazing twist of fate, Ivory was accepted to the three top schools in the country: Harvard, Princeton and Stanford. The interviews will all three of these schools were perfect. They loved him and it was a personal choice of Princeton that was the only deciding factor in where Ivory was to spend the rest of his school career. His time at Princeton was about the same as his previous school days, as he excelled in a way that would make people think he was a robot or genius or something. Everybody loved him. From extensions on papers to favors from the residential advisors… Ivory always seemed to get what he wanted.

Even for someone with as many friends and fans, for lack of a better term, as Ivory had, life couldn't continue to be perfect. During his final year at Princeton, Ivory found himself being hunted down and stalked by some girl he had only met once before, at a party early in the year. He never knew more than her first name, but she seemed to be obsessed with him, for whatever reason. The letters, the phone calls, the hiding in the bushes, the following around campus… all of that lasted for a few months before Ivory couldn't deal with it anymore. The resulting argument ended up with the girl running away in tears and the crowd supporting Ivory.

Ivory woke up, though, to the crazed girl and her basement that was half-shrine and half-torture chamber. For the next two days she kept him down there, professing her love and apologizing the entire time he was held captive. Up above, everyone was looking for Ivory and nobody could find him. Cops, Campus Security, The Lady At The Grocery Store. The only reason he was even found was because he managed to talk his way out of being her prisoner anymore. She released him and turned herself in… because he asked her to. Of course, she went to jail and Ivory returned to school, feeling the sympathy of dozens of people on his way to graduation, where he he was crowned Valedictorian.

In a strange twist of normalcy, Ivory skipped out on Graduate School and headed directly into the world he would never again be able to get out of. His impressive scholastic career coupled with his charming facade scored him gig after gig in the shadows of politicians on the rise. In the span of two years, he found himself at the bottom in the Department of Homeland Security. In another three years, he was Secretary of Homeland Security. How he managed to pull that off is still something of a mystery, but things get even more complex in the next year or so.

As Secretary of Homeland Security, Ivory made a name for himself with quite a few people within the upper echelon of the government. To the point that when Senator Nathan Petrelli vacated his position and Ivory inquired about how they were going to fill it, he was nominated straight away. Some strings were pulled, Ivory said goodbye to the Homeland Security phase of his life and stepped right into his biggest office to date, as a U.S. Senator representing New York.

Dead Like Me

Ivory went through some mental hell, in finding out that he had an ability and he'd done all that bad stuff. After almost getting killed, Ivory believed that the only way to get out of this was to die. He needed some time to get away. Some time to figure himself, and his ability, out. Who was the best person to help him do this? Mama Wynn. In talking to her about it, she revealed that she too had an ability. She could place people in Temporary Suspended Animation. Together, they came up with the idea to fake his death, using Mama Wynn's special ability. After the "quiet, family only" funeral, Mama Wynn removed the Suspended Animation and helped Ivory disappear.

Ivory's disappearance took him on a walkabout around the world, to be honest. During his travels, he took it upon himself to learn how to use this ability to the best of his ability. Teaching himself, experimenting, pushing his limits… all of those things and more. He found that his ability was something that could definitely be abused. And he loved it. He became drunk with the power and the possibilities of using it to his own ends. And he loved it. Around the end of his world journey, vengeance entered his mind. There were people that needed to be shown that he was more than just a pawn. There were people that had to pay. Now, he would make his return, to do just that.

Resurrected

Ivory had taken it upon himself to move to New York. WIth loads of cash money, likely from enthralling women out of it, he came to New York with vengeance in his soul and anger in his eyes. He chose to set up residence in the city and take control of a defunct strip club named Therapy and use that to make himself unknown, but known in the criminal underworld.

Unfortunately, things didn't turn out the way he would've hoped. He got trapped on a deserted island with one of his greatest enemies and found something that he never would've thought he still had: a conscience. Not long after returning to the mainland, Ivory turned himself in to the authorities. He was quickly sentenced for his crimes and thrown in federal prison in upstate New York.

Ivory accepted his fate with open arms.

Unknowingly assisted by one of his few remaining friends, Ivory's parole hearing went much smoother than even Ivory expected. Due to his extremely good behavior, his repentance for his crimes and his overall cooperation with the D.A. during his trial, Ivory Wynn was released from prison on Feburary 15, 2011.

Only to find out that everything he ever knew was gone. His club, his money, his connections. They were all stripped from him in a number of ways that were beyond his control.

Ivory Wynn has been given a new lease on life. A final chance to take life by the horns and live it the way he should've in the beginning. He has another chance to become the man he's always wanted to be.

• A Year Later —> Ivory takes it upon himself to introduce the President of the United States to a new measure of security.

• You Can't Wynn —> Ivory makes a Senatorial address, which scores an impromptu meeting with Tracy. It doesn't go according to her plans, though. Or does it?

• Full Cooperation —> Ivory meets with Max in an effort to get some insight into their terrorist un-organization. Gets a deal, instead.

June 3rd

• Victorious Wynn — Casually Evil Ivory Wynn decides its time to put one of his oldest enemies under surveillance. Of course, there's only one woman in his harem that could pull this off… Victory.

June 4th

• Privacy Act — Therapy is invaded by some politician's representation. However, a deal is made that could turn out to be promising for all parties involved. Mostly Ivory, though.

• Change — Everybody needs a little change in their lives. Ivory is more than willing to help with this.

Personality

Ivory understands wholeheartedly that he has been given another chance to get it right. He is truly apologetic and sorry for everything that he's done, whether it was under his own control or not and he's striving to put things back in order. His life back in order. He has developed a sense of honor and integrity while spending his days rotting in prison. Punishment for his actions has done Ivory good, which has given him a more positive outlook on life. He no longer harbors the hatred or bad feelings towards anyone in his past. He has moved on and he wants to develop new relationships, rather than focus on the bad. Though, if people were willing to give him a third chance, he would gladly accept it. He does not disagree that he has quite a bit to atone for.

Ivory's time in the slammer has given him a new appreciation for his ability. He made a vow to his mother before going inside that he wouldn't use it and that was a vow he took very seriously. Ivory has come to appreciate that his ability comes with ups and downs and that using it for personal gain only seems to make matters worse. Ivory has become very meticulous with his ability use and has managed to gain control over it rather than the other way around. He is no longer consumed by the Power that it gives him. The advantages that his ability give to him are not advantages if they are not earned.

Ivory has witnessed a great many things during his stint in prison, which has opened his eyes to the Real World instead of the Silver Spoon World that he was used to. He has seen people at the lowest and he wants to never be stuck in such a position as what he has seen. He would rather die than return to prison in any shape or form. He has, for lack of better terminology, officially be scared straight. If that's even possible for someone like him.

Ivory is a much happier individual. While he still feels like he has something to prove to everyone that ever confided in him or believed in him through some form or fashion, he is comfortable with where he is in his life. He wants to be reaccepted more than anything and will probably go through great lengths to find himself somewhere to belong. He has sworn off directly getting involved with politics or the government ever again. Unfortunately…

Evolved Ability

Ivory Wynn has developed the ability of Hypnotism. The ability itself is often defined as using one's psychic abilities to put others into a trance-like state of extreme suggestibility. Those that fall prey to being Hypnotized will find themselves very susceptible to whatever the Hypnotizer has in store for them. Ivory's ability of Hypnotism is as far reaching as his imagination, as he can use it in a variety of different ways and forms, thus allowing him to create an arsenal of Hypnotic Stunts at which to choose from. His body simply radiates with the psychic energies, or a Hypnotic Aura, needed to create the symptoms of Hypnosis and through a variety of applications, he can use these psychic energies to his advantage.

"I used to think being Evolved was a Curse. A punishment for my ill will. Now I see that the Power is a Gift. One that I intend to use. Significantly."

Hypnosis is the mastery of the subliminal and that's where Ivory's true power lies. By attacking the subconscious mind of his victims, Ivory can implant suggestions directly into the mind, which allows him to manipulate them in any number of ways. In addition to direct subliminal manipulation, Ivory is also capable of bringing about a trance-like state over his victims, which opens their subconscious mind even wider and makes them easier to Hypnotize. A common myth is that those with strong willpower cannot be hypnotized. While there may be some truth to this, the fact that everyone has a subconscious mind means that everyone is capable of being hypnotized. It just may be extremely more difficult to those that are highly self-aware.

A key element in Hypnosis, regardless of the style or stunt being used, is a Trigger. Ivory makes use of Triggers to help him keep control of his victims. A Trigger can be anything from a gesture to a word to a sound or even a picture. Triggers can be subliminal or obvious, but they tend to help activate or deactivate the Hypnotic Trance that someone may be in. They can also be used to cause certain actions to take place or emotions to be felt, depending on the depth to which Ivory has implanted them with Hypnosis. The use of Triggers is purely up to Ivory's discretion.

Ivory's particular brand of Hypnosis is reliant on Ivory being in control of his own ability, as well as being of conscious mind and body. Things that effect Ivory's mind or concentration will often have adverse effects on his Hypnotism. With the Hypnosis being directly related to Ivory, trance like states and other effects of his Hypnotism will go away the moment he becomes unconscious. This does not affect the Hypnotic suggestions that have already been placed, though. To undo such things, it will take Ivory doing so or someone with Mind Altering abilities.

Considering Ivory's high level of control over this ability and the incredible potency of it in the first place, Ivory is immune to the effects of Hypnotism himself. Whether or not his Hypnotic Aura allows him some defense against other Mind Altering abilities is unknown. What is known is that Ivory's Hypnotism allows him to be a Master of Manipulation.

Unlike some mental abilities, Hypnotism is not a perfect science. There are times in which his Hypnotic suggestions are not strong enough to actually stick into the brains of those that are being targeted. His particular brand of Hypnotism is limited to the manipulation of the Hypnotic Aura around him. The aura only exists when he's conscious. Also, while he has multiple ways of producing Hypnosis (touch, voice, his dreamy eyes) all of these things can be combatted with general objects. Blindfolds, gloves and blasting Blink 182 through a set of earbuds can all be useful in protecting oneself from Hypnotism.

Contrary to what may be popular belief, Ivory's Hypnotism affects the brain in a different way than true Telepathy. To be perfectly honest, it's a poor man's Telepathy. Those with such ability would probably be able to swat away Hypnosis the moment they feel a stray suggestion enter their mind. This would, of course, depend on how well trained they are in their ability. However, Hypnotism tends to send immediate red flags to the Telepathic brain in question. This is not to say Telepaths are immune, but they do pose a bigger problem than others.

One of the key limitations to Ivory's Hypnosis is the inability to rewrite anyone's moral fiber. While everyone is capable of doing certain things, there are key instances in which targets will not be able to carry out commands that are brought on by Ivory's Hypnosis. Ivory's Hypnosis preys on what is already there. For instance, should Ivory try to make someone act like a Dingo and they've never seen or heard of a Dingo, they would be unable to carry out this action. There are certain things that Hypnosis just won't be able to make people do.

Another limitation on Ivory's Hypnotism is the amount of people that he's capable of hypnotizing. The heaviness of the Hypnotism is related to the number of targets and vice versa. The more powerful or deeply engrained a command of Hypnosis is, the less people he can actually Hypnotize with it. For example, distracting a huge crowd with a light hypnosis to make everyone look at him, instead of at a bank robbery, would be a piece of cake. However, the catch is that this is a momentary Hypnosis that would dissipate in less than two minutes. On the other hand, creating deep Hypnosis in particular subjects would take an extreme amount of focus and concentration, meaning that he can only have a few of these 'loyal subjects' at a time.

In more specific terms, at the present time, Ivory can have no more than three Puppets under his spell. What is meant by Puppets are those that are deeply underneath his spell with little hope of coming out of it on their own. Should any of these Puppets be released through some other means, then Ivory's total would free up automatically. Ivory would, of course, sense that he's lost a Puppet.

As far as commands go, they are more fluid. Even while having Puppets Hypnotically Enslaved to him, Ivory is still capable of temporarily Hypnotizing others for limited periods of time. Momentary hypnotism has no upper limit, as the Hypnotism will fade on its own after a certain duration (i.e. by the end of the scene). Ivory, though, is still capable of creating short-term Hypnosis suggestions and implanting them in the minds of up to ten people. These short-term Hypnosis suggestions will also fade, on their own accord, after about a week, leaving the victims slightly disoriented, but unclear of what they were Hypnotized to do or even that they were Hypnotized at all.

_{Bonus Feature: Constant victims of Ivory's Hypnosis may find themselves very susceptible to Ivory, in different ways. It may or may not be possible for overexposure to Hypnosis to have lingering manipulative effects such as Ivory's voice causing immediate Hypnotic Trances even without his expressed use of Hypnotism.}

ADIDAS

Ivory has the ability to use his Hypnotic suggestion to appeal to someone's sex drive and focus it on a particular subject. This can be done with or without Triggers, but tends to make a victim's animalistic urges come to the forefront by removing their inhibitions.

All Hands On Deck

Ivory can create immediate responses from targets of this Hypnosis stunt. Skin to Skin contact will allow him to deliver a command to be carried out by the target, without the use of anything more than his touch. No overt vocalization is needed. When Ivory touches a target, the compulsion to carry out the deed is immediately given. It lingers until the task is done or they are told to stop by Ivory himself.

Bark Like A Dog

Ivory can use his Hypnosis to make targets act like animals. These animals are usually of the domesticated variety, but more exotic animals are also available for use.

Clothing Optional

One of the first tricks he learned was the classic 'strip' Hypnosis trance. By putting people under, he can have them awaken with a subconscious thought to strip. This is trigger based, as the target will function like normal, even after the trigger is activated, though they will also strip at the same time. What else would you expect from a Strip Club Owner?

Cluck Like A Chicken

Once a target has been thrown into a trance, it becomes very simple to command them to do things. This incorporates commands that result in an instant reaction, whether or not the target understands what's going on or not. This can also be attached to a Trigger that turns the Hypnotic suggestion on and off.

Fearless

Through any form of his Hypnosis, Ivory is capable of removing a target's "fears" or whatever emotions may be stopping them from in that regard. The removal of such things will allow the victim to feel as if they are fearless and brave, sometimes even losing their own need for self-preservation.

Follow The Leader

Ivory can create a Hypnotic effect on those around him to make them follow him, in the physical sense. This allows him to lead victims astray and away from any given location.

Forget Me Lots

Ivory's ability to manipulate the minds of others extends to messing with their memories. Ivory can make victims of his Hypnosis "forget" things, by simply putting them under his spell and telling them that certain things didn't happen. He cannot read minds or anything like that, he can only talk about things he knows. Memories affected by this stunt will gradually return to the owner's mind over the course of a few days.

Ivory has the ability to put people in a trance that makes them believe they can do something they normally can't do. This can be anything from singing and dancing to flying. Triggers are optional.

Ivory has the ability to Hypnotize someone through touching them. Skin to Skin contact will allow him to induce a Hypnotic Trance in a target, thereby making them susceptible to his commands and other Hypnotic suggestions.

Ivory also has the ability to "make" people think he's hot or sexy. By using his Hypnotic aura, he's capable of emitting a strong suggestion of "So Hot" into the minds of those within a given area who are looking at him. This makes them victims of his handsomeness, unable to deny how good he looks and thus easier to manipulate or distract.

Through Hypnosis, Ivory has the ability to make his victims believe they see something that isn't really there. By implanting the idea in their head, it becomes a manipulation of the mind. Uncle Phil

• Real Name: Philonious Monk
• Played By: James Avery

Philonious Monk was born and raised on the streets of Harlem in New York. Through the years he's amassed an empire within then neighborhood, through shady dealings and criminal connections. Through all of them, though, never once did he do anything to hurt or tarnish his community. As he grew in power, keeping himself local and based out of Harlem, Philonious came to be known as Uncle Phil to the younger generations in the neighborhood. He considers himself to be more of a Community Activist than an Active Criminal.

Today, Uncle Phil remains "in charge" of Harlem, for lack of better terminology. He and Ivory have become more than business acquaintances over recent times, to the point that Uncle Phil looks at Ivory as one of his own. His is willing to assist Ivory with anything and everything he can, though Harlem will always come first.

Recent favors from Uncle Phil have gotten Ivory a third chance to live amongst the free world. While he respects Ivory, he also would like the man to learn how to stand on his own two feet. Uncle Phil will be there for support, but he refuses to hold Ivory's hand through whatever it is that Ivory is going to do with his life now.

Uncle Phil is hardly ever seen without his faithful canine companion, Vivian.

• Real Name: Gilbert Franklin Silas Edison White
• Played By: Method Man

Gilbert Franklin Silas Edison White was nothing more than a street racing jailbird when Senator Ivory Wynn bailed him out and offered him a job as his personal driver. Soon after that, though, Ivory committed suicide. But not-so-soon after that, it was revealed that the suicide was untrue! Gimmie Dat had returned to his criminal lifestyle, but a phone call from his supposedly deceased former employer brought him a new light and beacon of hope to which to live by.

Not to mention a steady paycheck.

As one of the only people to visit Ivory during his time in prison, Gimmie Dat has (once again) returned to Ivory's employ, working with him as his personal driver and general Go To Guy. For all intents and purposes, this is Ivory's Right Hand Man.

• Real Name: Elizabeth Wynn
• Played By: Sheryl Lee Ralph
• Evolved Status: Elizabeth has the ability to put sentient beings into a state of Suspended Animation. This keeps the victims exactly the way they are until the Suspended Animation wears off.

Mama Wynn is the Number One Woman in Ivory's life. She's always been there to slap him or anybody else that tries to hurt her Baby Boy. Her Evolved ability to create temporary bouts of Suspended Animation helped her to secure her son's fate as Not Dead. Though, Ivory has kept her ability a secret and her out of the news, in regards to his most recent activities.

Mama Wynn currently continues to reside in Virginia, where she fully supports and stands behind Ivory in everything he does. Especially, since he seems to finally be coming into his own, even in this late age. She has been in many altercations with those that dare to say something less than stellar about her Baby Boy. Mama don't play.

• Real Name: Morris Wynn
• Played By: William Allen Young.

With a last name like Wynn, Morris was bound to be a lawyer. While he always had an interest in politics, he never got the opportunity to get involved in them. However, Ivory was all over them and that's how the Father and Son became so close. Morris loves providing Ivory with advice and suggestions on his political aspirations and things like that.

However.

Morris is none too thrilled about Ivory's release from prison. While he appreciates that the court system has given his son another chance, he doesn't believe that Ivory has learned his lesson. He feels that Ivory really needs to be shaken to his core before he will understand the ramifications of what he's done. Not to mention this pretty much ruins any chance for Ivory to return to politics.

Past

Ivory Wynn has a very decorated past with Politics, Criminals and Evolved. It is possible that he knows people from all those walks of life and beyond. Those from his past that would like to reconnect with him are always a good option for promoting RP. He is also a past student of Princeton. I'm very open to anything or anyone from his Past attempting to reconnect.

Former Females

Ivory Wynn has always been something of an addict when it comes to women. Which means that he has all kinds of females from many of his Before available to come back into his life. Whether they are old characters or new ones devised from our combined creativity, I'm very much interested in reclaiming some old relationships of yesteryear. Perhaps rekindling old flames or creating new flames through established connections will open up some more RP avenues. Old Therapy dames are definitely included in this.

Enemies

You don't become what Ivory Wynn became without making some enemies. Whether they are from one of his previous 'lives' or they are from his need to survive in Prison or if it's just some people that don't like him because of his sexy blackness… I'm always interested in getting down with some enemies. It's always good to have somebody to go head to head against in some form or fashion. Makes attempting to become victorious even more fun.

Parole

Definitely looking for someone to play Ivory's parole officer. I have personal preferences, but I'm also interested in seeing what I could come up with if someone is interested. Could turn out to be something very interesting! Depending on what we come up with! To make this even more enticing… I bet you could even swing making this a Support character. Oh ho!

In addition to the officer character, there are many other reasons to get into a scene with Ivory, that could come from him actually -being- on parole. Have a gander at some of the terms of his parole for some scene ideas.

Parole Terms

Ivory Wynn has been given some very specific terms to follow in regards to his parole. Should he adhere to all of these terms on a regular basis, there is the chance that he will be removed from parole and once again a more capable and functioning member of society.

• Curfew: Ivory Wynn must be within the Home of Philonious Monk by 9:00PM on Weeknights and 11:00PM on Weekends. Lateness and absences must be reported.

• Check-Ins: Ivory Wynn must perform weekly check ins with his parole officer every week. Check Ins will vary on day and time, but Ivory Wynn will be given ample notice.

• Employment: Ivory Wynn must find and retain steady employment within a month of his release (by March 15, 2011). Extensions may be granted if Ivory Wynn shows effort.

• Recreational Restrictions: Ivory Wynn is not allowed to consume or be in the possession of any drugs or alcohol. Cigarettes do not count against this restriction.

• Travel Restrictions: Ivory Wynn cannot leave the country without expressed written consent and a chaperone.

• Social Restrictions: Ivory Wynn cannot have any prolonged contact with any current political figures while on parole.
