History

Kitty's Early Years

Kitty Beatrix Hanner was born to Malori and Bob Hanner on March 5, 1987 in New York City. Bob left his family without any explanation two months after Kitty was born. Kitty's mother is a successful businesswoman and is always traveling. Due to her mother never being around and she being looked after in her toddler days by her nanny, Kitty began to read and fell in love with books. Her favorite novels were the kinds with mythical dragons and princesses that were saved by a handsome prince. Kitty's dream as a little girl was to be rescued and taken to a place of love and fun, none of which she was receiving at home.

As Kitty turned 11, her mother remarried to a man named Luke Sanchez. He was a mechanic and he showed Kitty everything he knew about cars. Kitty and Luke became very close and she thought of him as her father, biological or not. Luke urged to continue reading but to break out of her shell and to experience life. He took her to amusement parks and they rode roller coasters, went skydiving and a whole list of other fun activities. Kitty became a more outgoing person because of Luke and she loved him for that. At age 13, Kitty's power first began to manifest itself. She was in a mall with Luke when she brushed up against a woman and touched her purse. She saw a flash of light and a jumble of images ran past her. She couldn't make sense of what was going on but the one image she sees clearly was the one of the woman she bumped being hit by a truck outside of the mall. Kitty felt as if she was really there. Her skin felt the burning heat of the summer sun and she smelled the city smells. She didn't understand how this had happened and she ran forward to help the woman when she was jolted out of her vision. Luke had gone on to an auto store and the woman was out of sight. Kitty ran to the entrance of the mall and saw the woman step out to the street just as the truck was going to hit her. Kitty ran to the woman and pulled her out of the way before the truck killed her. While a crowd started to swarm and thank Kitty for her heroic deed, she was freaked out by what happened and she ran all the way home, not explaining a word to Luke about it.

Kitty's Manifestation and Adult Life

During the first year that Kitty's ability manifested itself she could hardly touch any object without a vision resulting from it. The second time that she received a vision an object she knew that she wasn't crazy and that she had a gift, or a curse as she first called it. She saw the past and future with her ability. Everything from a pop quiz she would receive by bumping a teacher's desk, to when a man was going to be mugged down the street from her house, to a memory of a father and son playing baseball in the afternoon at Central Park. She was receiving so many visions that she had to start wearing gloves in order for her to not get any visions by touching anything with her skin. Luke couldn't understand what was going on with Kitty was she reverted to her quiet bookworm self. A rift seemed to grow between them and even though they still worked on cars together, the air was always tense and awkward. After a year of hiding from her power, Kitty finally mustered up the courage to tackle her ability full on and gain control of it. A conversation with Luke inspired this within her. Luke told her that she was a great person and that whatever was bothering her and getting her down then she just had to take control of it and not let it beat her down. So when Kitty reached her second year in high school she took the gloves off and began to train her power.

By the time that Kitty graduated high school she could touch objects without having visions most of the time. Even though she didn't need to wear gloves anymore, she began to wear a pair of fingerless gloves so that she could always be reminded of the safety that gloves once gave her. With control over her power came more confidence and she began to adventure out more and be more social now that she didn't need to worry about being thrown into a vision by touching an object. She looked at her ability as a gift now and even used it to help others at time. Kitty began to attend NYU for writing classes because the world of reading brought her into the world of writing which she did all the time when she reached college, mostly writing poetry.

One night as Kitty was coming home to her apartment from class a man tried to mug her. She fought him off barely and got into her home and called the police. This is when Luke decided to teach Kitty how to handle a gun in order to protect herself. He would take her to the shooting range every Saturday and soon she was pretty capable with a gun. This time shared between the two brought them closer again as Kitty had opened up to people again. Kitty's mother even began to show more interest in her daughter's life after a co-worker's daughter was murdered. Malori Hanner realized that she needed to be with her daughter and be around for her daughter more. As Kitty begins her last year of college, she can control her power to a certain degree and she is becoming closer to her mother. At the moment, nothing in life can go wrong.

One Year Later...

Kitty has finally moved on from life after the death (or murder) of both of her parents. She inherited an enormous amount of money and also her mother's company, Hanner Airways. The night she left for Egypt, the first stop on her global tour. She was approached by an agent from the Company. The man gave her a card, not knowing what to do about it. Kitty placed it in the back of her mind. After she returned from her worldly travels. Kitty set down to business and moved into the newly rebuilt Hanner Manor, taking the reigns of her mother's business. She also called the number on the card to the Company, the young woman has been a very busy woman lately.

Roots

Clara Breen

Someone just as crazy as Kitty seems to be herself. Clara and Kit first crossed paths in a subway train station, the meeting may or may not have been forseen by Kitty. While the two definitely have a hard time having people understand them. It would seem that they understand each other as well as someone can understand either of them. Kitty has taken it to be her duty to help Clara unlock the mysteries of her past. Also they do an awesome rendition of Wannabe by the Spice Girls.. (Kitty mostly but still).

Portia Maddox

The rock goddess herself, Portia and Kitty have been friends for a very long time. They've seen each other at their best and certainly their worst. Before Kitty had any inclination that she had siblings she considered Portia a little sister. Always there for advice, shopping, boy talk. At times Kitty's role as big sister can be taken too seriously. It probably doesn't help that Kitty and Portia's mother Desiree are friends.

Robin Whyte

Kitty's little brother, the second youngest to Fox. Kit and Robin are very close, she often calls him 'Bird' though he may not like it all that much. She depends on him probably as much as she depends on their butler to help keep her safe and make sure she doesn't do anything too crazy. She will always protect Robin fiercely and hopes that maybe one day when he's older that he might be able to run Hanner Enterprises.

Peter Petrelli

Like Portia, Peter has always been something of a big brother to Kitty before she knew she had real siblings. The two have always been there for each other and Kitty once called him by the nickname Boy Wonder. When Alpha Protocol came into the picture things started to shift and change between them. Kitty hasn't seen Peter in a little while now.. she hopes he's okay.

Branches

Angela Petrelli

The matriarch of the Pertrelli family. She is known affectionately as 'Beehive' (behind her back of course). Kitty has a lot of respect for the older woman but also would like to see Angela relax. Angela has been there when Kitty has needed her and vice versa. Kitty sees through the mask that Angela holds, but to try to remove it would be dangerous. Kitty loves her Beehive though.

Roman Carter

Kit likes the immaculately dressed man. There's something about him, she can't place it. He seems so eager to do things. That could be a good.. or very bad thing. Though the fact that she saw a cataclysm happen when she touched him.. has left her with mixed feelings. To say the least.

Randall Kirkwood

These two have known each other for a few years now, though they aren't exactly friends. Mostly because they just haven't spent that much time together. Kitty thinks he's a nice guy and he's never shown himself to an asshole of any sort. His dating of Portia though.. has left her with eyebrows and crossed arms. She's just overprotective.

The Clan

Harley Hanner

Harley is Kitty's older brother, someone that she trust and relies on immensely. They met under strange circumstances in which in which their father Bo had him watching Kitty to make sure that their uncle Roberto couldn't get to her and Robin. Through the revelation of their family history and the bonding that the two have been through, especially when he came with her to Egypt while she got control over her ability, this has all made an iron clad bond between the two. She loves him a lot.

Libby Hanner

These two had just met when Bo and the others came to rescue Kitty from Roberto though they bonded pretty quickly. Libby being the one that stayed in Egypt with Kitty the most during her recovery. She is the direct opposite of her mother, carefree and nonchalant but with a certain hardness to her. Kitty is really have that she has a mother figure in her life in the absence of her own mother.

Bo Hanner

Bo or 'Bob' Hanner is a mystery to even his sister. His motives for the procreation of his children aren't exactly known. Nevertheless, he loves them all very much and has been trying to be there more for his children. Though many of them harbor resentment towards him, Kitty doesn't really know how to feel about him. But she seems to be the most forgiving out of all the kids, she and Harley.

Roberto Hanner

Roberto Hanner or 'Harlin' as he came to call himself is a tragic story indeed. He developed his ability of mind control around the same time that he developed his mental disorders. He was hospitalized and Libby and Bo ran away from him. For fear of what he would do next. After murdering his parents he set off after Bo and Libby. Killing a few of Bo's children before ultimately keeping some of the others under his control. Kitty only knew him for a brief time as she was under his mind control but what she remembers about him is his craziness and ruthlessness. She had nightmares for months, sometimes she still does.
