Timeline
Previously…
December, 2006
- 17th - On Bitter Politicians. Nathan, recovering from his injuries from the nuclear explosion in the sky, talks to attending, Dr. Samantha Applebaum, at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
February, 2007
- 21st - Get Well. A brief meeting between acquaintances. Nathan gets a Get Well card and some things to think about.
- 28th - Visiting Hours Are Apparently 24-7. Hiro returns, with burgers, but not before being swept up by Noah to go and track some people down, cut some bitches, you know how it is, and Nathan's room is the detour.
- 28th - Some Things Thicker Than Blood. And even later than night, Nathan's crippling injuries and disfiguring scars are healed away with a little (or a lot) of help from his biological daughter, Claire. Nathan gets more of a sense, from this night in general, that things are starting to hit the fan. Also, a new mission: if Peter is alive? Nate's gonna find him, and kill him.
- 28th - The Bio Family Hour. So basically, Nathan isn't getting any sleep tonight, and neither is Claire. The two reunite briefly for some late night conversation, and Nathan ponders some questions, such as 'will Noah help him get Peter back? Is there even a Peter to get back? And wait, did Claire say tornado?
March, 2007
- 2nd - Common Interest. After Mohinder Suresh and Noah Bennet arrive at the Petrelli doorstep with a very dead Hiro, whom Claire saves via her magical healing blood and then manages to pass out from the physical shock of such a transfusion… Noah and Nathan discuss things a little further. They agree to keep Claire at the estate and safe, and Noah promises he will do what he can to go rescue Peter.
- 2nd - Everyone's Hero. Hiro wakes up, under the watch of Molly, and Nathan stops by to see how he's doing. And makes sure Hiro is also on to this 'save Peter' thing. If there's one thing Nathan's good at, it's campaigning.
- 6th - A Plan to Save Peter Petrelli. On the roof the Devaux Building, Nathan arrives late to a gathering of… well, heroes. Hiro and Mohinder, he has met, and he is introduced to Jane, Xander, Jack, Eliana, Sydney and Mara. They have come together to discuss the rescuing of Peter, but the conversation quickly turns to dissension when not everyone is willing to risk their lives for the cause, and it is Sydney and Eliana who turn their back on the mission. But they have a group - now all that's left is the mission.
- 8th - About Acquired Art. Nathan is surprised when Jane arrives at his home. They talk on the plans discussed during the meeting, and Jane presents a different point of view and idea. Nathan remains cynical, but is willing to explore this avenue despite himself.
- 8th - Between a Rock and a Hard Place. Angela makes moves to veer her son off the path of heroics when she discovers he has a plan, and Claire has her doubts as well. Nathan? Probably more doubtful than either of them, deep down.
- 9th - Conversation Under Cover Of Chords. The next day, having thought on this previous conversation, Nathan arranges again to meet Jane, this time in Central Park, and they fine tune their plans of diplomacy.
- 9th - Networking With Noah. Nathan drags Bennet into it. Except he sort of didn't tell Bennet about it beforehand, and springs Jane's involvement on him only when she shows up. Noah is less than happy, but comes around. Plans continue to be a-foot, as they strive to get the paintings back from Hiro so that negotiations can begin.
- 10th - Chapter Two: Betrayals - The Foe You Know. For some strange reason, the negotiations fall through. That should have been the first indication. Nathan fails to save his brother when Noah Bennet betrays them and the Company sets up a trap, resulting in he, Jane and Hiro getting captured.
- 13th - Safe Places. Nathan is released from the Company's facility without so much as one memory tarnished. He goes straight home - the quickest way he knows how - in the hopes to meet Claire and/or Peter, but both are gone. Angela is there to inform him that Peter has taken off with 'a girl', Noah has taken Claire away, and Sylar occurred.
- 13th - Finding What Is Broken. Running on no sleep and much coffee, Nathan finds himself at Jane's apartment, unsure of what he would find there. He finds a Jane without any memory of him or what they've done, much to his unsurprise, but it's worse than he imagined. With a sense of guilt and anger, Nathan promises her his help - somehow - and leaves as quickly as he can.
- 13th - Brotherly Reunion Take Two. Peter decides to show up. Nathan opts for hugging him rather than throttling him.
- 14th - Peter Petrelli's Right Outside Your Bookstore. Nathan and Peter, upon returning from Peter's apartment to collect a few things, come across Jane playing her guitar. They talk, the Petrelli boys guilt. Afterwards, this triggers a little more conversation about what happened in the break in, and what to do next.
- 15th - Unexpected Petrelli. Nathan runs into Mara at a bar. They talk about heroes, powers, and then, Mara has a precognitive vision in which Nathan gets a divorce. Awwwkwaaard.
- 16th - Amazing Flying Petrelli. Driven out of house and home, because no one wants to listen to Peter and Elle, EVER, Nathan goes to his favourite bar. He meets Mara. They get wasted. NO SEX HAPPENS.
- 17th - Let Me Help You, Peter. Nathan takes the walk of shame home, hoping for coffee and a nice cool, dark room to get rid of his monster headache in. Instead, he runs into Peter, who is making breakfast for Elle. They end up talking about how to save the world.
- 17th - Cold Showers Fix Everything. Smooth moves on everyone's part. Having left his wedding ring behind (seriously, not what it looks like), Nathan turns up at Mara's apartment, despite his raging hangover. There is coffee exploding, a cold shower and some talk about Gabriel Gray. NO SEX HAPPENS.
- 21st - Cracks in the Armour. Mara is shot and calls Nathan for help. He flies her to Mt. Sinai Hospital before the cops can get to the scene, and stays with her until she is admitted into surgery. Sex definitely does not happen.
- 22nd - General Freaking Hospital. Nathan goes to visit Mara, finding [[[Peter]] already there and inevitably bonding with Mara. Nathan informs them both about Claire's ability when Peter pushes to know how Nathan was healed, and instructs Peter to get Claire's help in healing Mara. He also briefly meets Ed, whom Mara whispers to him is part of the Company… and finds them to be friends. Confused and bewildered, Nathan leaves, not without questions unsaid.
- 23rd - Canary, Coffee, and Classified Info. Nathan meets Jane by chance in the East Village. Upon discovering that someone went ahead and told her the truth as to what had happened to her, he and she go for coffee to have actual, honest conversation.
- 23rd - No Peter Pan. Nathan in the sky with Mara. After breaking her out of the hospital late at night, the two make a gigantic mistake. Blame the gin. NO SEX HAPPENS.
- 23rd - A Long Day Getting Longer. Nathan comes home to find Peter nursing an injured and frostbitten Niki, and is too shocked to really question why. Things are awkward. After Niki leaves - in a hurry - Nathan impulsively tells Peter about Mara's prediction on his divorce, and receives encouragement that it can be averted.
- 24th - Peter Petrelli Cheats at Monopoly. Peter and Nathan go and visit Mara, and they proceed to play Monopoly. Oh, and Peter gets a vision of Mara and Nathan making out. Then they continue to play Monopoly. The epitome of NO SEX HAPPENS.
- 24th - Beaten By a Politician. Nathan and Lachlan are useless drunks. They hit each other and be men. Spoiler: Nathan wins.
- 25th - Save The Gappytooths, Save The World. A brief conversation over the phone between Peter and Nathan. Hell seems to have broken loose.
- 27th - What've You Got in Mind?. Nathan collects Mara from the hospital to put her somewhere a little less obvious. On the car ride over, a new plan formulates. NO SEX HAPPENS.
- 29th - Chance Meetings Amongst Crazies. Central Park. Nathan encounters Jessica, has a brief exchange with Viola and her husband Ethan, then talks to Jack about shenanigans.
- 29th - ...and Forever. Nathan goes to talk to Mara about these shenanigans, and the conversation deviates. He ends up not making a mistake. Twice. NO EXCESSIVE DRINKING HAPPENS.
- 30th - Keep Your Friends Close. Nathan tracks Jane down to confront her about the shenanigans involving the hand outs, and gets her to agree to cut out some of the content. Peter joins them later, and startles Nathan with the news that Peter will be running a company. With the Company. Nathan's not unhappy, however. It could be exactly what's needed.
- 31st - No. Nathan seeks out Claire. It doesn't go so swimmingly. He does, however, meet Drake, and as usual when he is within a 10 foot radius of his bio-daughter, awkward ensues.
- 31st - Inevitable and Unacceptable. When the two go out for drinks that night, Nathan and Peter end up talking… less about saving the world and more about Nathan's love life. What is mentioned of Peter's still disturbs Nathan, but he can still mock.
- 31st - Dirty Laundry. Nathan detours to Mara's hideout for a brief visit that turns out to be less brief. He catches her up on the day's events - except for the part about how he told Peter the truth - and eventually passes out on her bed. He also learns her real name. NO SEX HAPPENS.
April, 2007
- 3rd - Central Park Trajectory. Nathan meets Drake again by chance, and they have a conversation. It is surprisingly not awkward as they seem to agree on a few fundamental things. Nathan even reveals his power - mostly for cool points.
- 3rd - Heidi is Home. Just what the title says. Nathan tries to explain the unexplainable.
- 5th - This Is Not About Love. Because it isn't. Right? Mara and Nathan have a talk. Neither are the pinnacles of maturity, and it doesn't end happily. NO SEX HAPPENS.
- 6th - The Entire Point. Nathan returns to fix things with Mara. Things end up getting broken further as lines are crossed and subsequently redrawn. Then he goes home. To his wife.
- 7th - Small Comfort. The secrets keep building and Nathan realises his life is revolving around things he can't tell Heidi about, nor fathom the lies to make it seem normal. So he starts from the beginning and fails to remember how old Claire is. She's short, damnit. It's misleading.
- 8th - Kill Mara: Volume One. The beginning of a series of events. Nathan and Peter rescue Mara from Gabriel Gray who has finally made his move. The brothers are split up when Nathan and Mara escape for safety, and then Mara disappears when Nathan leaves her to find Peter when all is said and done. To put it plainly: it's a mess. But no one dies.
- 10th - Outbreak. In his search for Mara, Nathan winds up passing through the Mt. Sinai ER. Because his luck is just that good, the whole place goes on the lockdown when a quarantine is called for. He brushes shoulders, notably, with Mr. Hendrickson, Lia, Bob and Samantha when he's put with a group of people in a room for hours and hours.
- 10th - (Not-)Home(not-)Sick. Nathan calls Heidi during this time. It sorta makes him feel better, and sorta doesn't.
- 12th - Youngest Goes First. Nathan turns up at Peter's apartment, and admits he's kinda sorta lost Mara. Peter admits he kinda sorta lost his hand (but it grew back!). Then, things get mysterious.
- 14th - How To Tick Off A Flaming Woman. …craziness. The mafia attempt to assassinate Nathan for the wrong reasons. But Nathan's not in the car that explodes. The right person, however, is. But she survives anyway. So nevermind. A bunch of other people get hit by debris, along with Nathan, and this loosely includes Victor, who Nathan attempts and fails to help, Lachlan, who actually does help Victor and doesn't get the credit, Cass, Elena, Eric and briefly Jack.
- 14th - Nathan Petrelli Shows Some Restraint (For Once). This takes place directly after the previous event. Gabrielle and Nathan discuss the incident a little further, and Nathan finds out that she currently is in possession of the $70,000 that was stolen from him. She agrees to return it to him, for the price of an unnamed future favour.
- 14th - The Newest Petrelli. Nathan comes home to a cat. Heidi's fault. They talk more about Claire, then arrange to go on a date.
- 21st - The Start of a Beautiful Friendship. A first-time meeting with City Council member and leader of the Foundation, Arianna Rockford-Johannsen, goes even better than Nathan could have hoped when he seeks her help in getting him back into Congress.
- 23rd - Surprise Drake. Oh hey look, Angela has employed Drake as an errand boy, and this is news to Heidi and Nathan. Good thing he already mentioned Claire, huh?
- 24th - A newspaper article detailing the arrest of Senator Reed makes the front page, which features Nathan making a statement both about the situation as well as his future political career.
- 24th - Elle In The Bucket. Busy day! That evening, Nathan responds to an email sent to him by Jane, and heads over to his brother's apartment to find her, a memory-swept Elle tied to a chair, and a power-overloaded comatose Peter. Jane explains the situation. Nathan presents a solution.
- 25th - Found Elle a Telepath. Rianna is introduced to the drama, drama is introduced to Rianna. She confirms for Elle that she was indeed Haitian'd, and enlightens her as to what relationships she has with Peter, Jane and even Nathan.
- 25th - Good Luck With... Um. Everything?. Nathan and Jane have a conversation immediately after the prior event. They talk about practicality, the Foundation and music contracts.
May, 2007
- 3rd - Saving Heidi: Why Is It Always A Black Van?. Part one: Nathan gets a call from someone he's not expecting - Elena. She notifies him that Heidi has been kidnapped, and he goes to meet Elena and Peter to discuss what to do next. He gets a phonecall from his wife's captors, and they give him instructions… which he ignores. Oh boy.
- 3rd - Saving Heidi: The Offscreen Phone Call. Part two: Elena's phonecall.
- 3rd - Saving Heidi: How To Aggravate Your Kidnappers. Part three: Meanwhile, in captivity, Heidi makes it difficult.
- 3rd - Saving Heidi: Come With Me If You Want To Live. Part four: The grand finale. Nathan, Peter and Elena go in search of Heidi, and end up with more trouble than they bargained for. Nathan searches a floor on his own and finds his wife - and when his hand is forced, Heidi gets to witness what her husband can do. Afterwards, Nathan briefly meets Gene and Eric in the getaway car. Also, the Terminator made an appearance - but that was on the 19th floor, and Nathan will think they're lying.
- 3rd - The Petrellis Are Mutants. Aftermath. Heidi still thinks he's weird - but in a good way! Ish! After speaking to Peter and discovering he can heal, she and Nathan discuss powers and things, as well as the kidnapping. The words 'Poohbear' and 'mutant' come up, unfortunately in relation to Nathan.
- 4th - Monopoly and Other Games. When Peter and Elle come to visit, Nate and Elle bond. Kind of. Well, they have a conversation and no one dies, so that's a start. Elle also offers Nathan a helping hand in regards to Heidi.
- 6th - Another news story about the arrest of the now former Senator Reed, with a statement from City Council member Arianna Rockford-Johannsen in support for Nathan to step up for election as a "man of conviction, of irrepressible moral fiber".
- 10th - Why Can't We Be Friends?. Nathan decides he needs a drink and goes to the Den of Iniquity. He catches up very briefly with Jack, gets a mysterious business card from Gene, introduces himself to Trina, encounters Jessica while thinking she is Niki, and then hell breaks loose and he plays bystander. When the electricity (read: angry Elle-ness) starts to fly, he makes a discreet exit.
- 11th - Show Me. Nathan introduces Heidi to the sky.
- 12th - It's Over. When Mara steps back into Nathan's life only to step back out of it, Nathan does the most hurtful thing: he lets her.
- 12th - Two Bottles Of Gin. Later, Nathan and Peter drink heavily. There is some talk of Mara, and lots of (long overdue) talk on Elle.
- 14th - Savior Petrelli Gets Freebies. Nathan takes a moment out of his day to stop and pick up some coffee from a Starbucks that has an Elena in it. For saving New York, he gets free coffee and cake, and for saving his wife, she gets a $10 tip.
- 16th - No Country. What happens when Mara and Heidi meet, with added Peter and Nathan? A prophecy is fulfilled, a wedding ring handed in, and Nathan ends up sleeping on Peter's floor.
- 16th - Chaos Theory. After a quick whiskey-delivery courtesy of Elle, who stops by to pick up the mansion keys to look after Simon and Monty (!!!), Peter and Nathan have a second drunken heart to heart. When Peter goes to walk his dog, Nathan sneaks out, unwilling to stay put for long. No floor sleeping for he.
- 16th - Misery Loves Company. Cass and Nathan realise this when they meet randomly at the Fly By Night Cocktail Bar.
- 17th - Suddenly: SCOTSMAN. Having fallen asleep on Cass's floor (because floor-sleeping had to inevitably occur), Nathan wakes up to a massive hangover, and… an angry Lachlan. Spoiler: Nathan loses.
- 17th - Peter > Ambulance. A phonecall that takes place directly after the prior event.
- 19th - Three Days. After locating the only person Nathan is aware of who knows his wife's location, Nathan still can't manage to get anywhere. But he does get a message to her. Progress?
- 19th - Needless Risk Taking And You. Later that day, Nathan meets with Rianna. They talk briefly on what to do next, and he gives her a little insight on what he's dealing with on the side with the promise that he's handling it.
- 20th - Heidi Go Seek. When Elena comes looking around the Petrelli estate for a still missing Heidi, she and Nathan follow That Bastard George to the hotel she's staying at. A conversation ensues. It's not going to be easy.
- 22nd - Nathan announces his candidacy for Senator in an official press conference. Here we go again.
- 24th - Fratelli In Armi. A detour to Jack's bar leads to a discovery - they have something in common! Specifically? Mara.
- 27th - More Than You Know. Peter is in a coma. On one of the days Nathan goes to visit and brood, he runs into Mara. They decide to be friends. Ahahahahaha. Ha.
- 28th - X Multiplied By Y Equals Progress. Heidi and Nathan talk things out some more. There's still a lot of work to be done, but at least they're on the same page. Just not in the same bedroom.
- 29th - Jell-o In Space. Cass is in hospital! Nathan finds her there when he goes to visit Peter. The fact that she's hopped on morphine seems to help the conversation, even if it is interjected with talk about ninjas and Jell-o in space.
- 29th - She's Afraid If She Leaves, She'll Become the Life of the Party. Jaden Cain throws a costume party. Nathan goes. He doesn't dress up as James Bond. (And it's not gay to go in matching costumes with a male friend.) Glitter ensues. A catfight is witnessed and prevented. His wife is a lion. Lots of drinking. In a word? Infuckingsanity.
- 30th - Picture Not-So-Perfect. Nathan visits Cass at hospital once more. One is hungover, one is on morphine. Guess who! There are also incriminating photographs, and the clarification that Jack is not Nathan's wife.
June, 2007
- 2nd - Superman, Hairband and Princess Leia. Peter wakes up from his coma, and Nathan goes to visit him to find Elle already there. There is brief talk on how Peter needs to stop doing this to himself, but mostly, Elle throws Nathan under the bus when Jaden's party is brought into the conversation.
- 3rd - Parent-Teacher Meetings of the Third Kind. Nathan somehow is left with the responsibility of going to a parent-teacher night at his sons' school. There, he meets Emery and his daughter Kennis. Both apparently want to marry into the Petrellis.
- 3rd - What Do You Propose?. Nathan has a great idea. It's called buying a dog! Peter has a great idea. It's called Nathan renewing his vows with Heidi because he's a cheating bastard!
- 4th - More Puppy Than You Can Handle. Heidi is woken up by puppies, and she and Nathan share a moment. Warning: excessive puppy.
- 7th - I Wanna be a Superhero. Time to tell the boys that yes, Monty did see the ground and hoses melt. Nathan and Heidi talk to them about superpowers, but Nathan is however stubborn when it comes to keeping his own a secret.
- 8th - There Will Always Be A Storm Coming. A rally to kick off his campaign. Nathan makes a speech, photos are taken, familiar people are spotted in the crowds, and it all goes surprisingly swimmingly. Nothing exploded!
- 10th - Geek To Senator, Come In Senator. Nathan finally meets with Gene in response to the card he was given, and finds himself being lectured to about the rescue mission involving Heidi. It ends on a good note, despite this. Nathan can relate to selfishly prioritising the wellbeing of your loved ones over others, at least.
- 12th through to the 28th - Nathan travels New York on a campaign trail.
- 26th - Senatorial candidate, Timothy Crane, throws down the gauntlet when he announces his intention to run for Senator, and adds a few choice words about Nathan in the process.
- 28th - The Devil Where You Turn. Nathan returns home. Heidi has things to tell him. It's not the happiest of conversations, but imminent death brings people closer together, in the end.
- 29th - A Side of Bacon and Psychokillers. The next morning is a good one, except that Peter has even more to tell him. A certain psychopath is back in town.
- 29th - Trivial And Bigger Than Anyone Can Comprehend. Phonecalls are for losers. Nathan simply visits Mara, and they reconnect over a familiar threat.
- 29th - Diamonds Aren't Forever. Jack makes a good point, then discovers a new power.
July, 2007
- 1st - All That Glitters Is Not Sequins. Jack's on security duty as Nathan and he walk from point A to point B. They discuss suits, diamonds, sequins, and a whole range of other very heterosexual things.
- 5th - Peter's Busy. Returning to the city after working some political magic at a country club, Nathan finds that his car brakes have been tampered with - but not before he hits Peter with his car, and kills him. Peter gets better, though.
- 6th - Simply An Accident. Nathan meets up with Heidi at Club DnA, coincidentally doing so also with a bunch of other people, recognisably Jack, Elena and Cass. Then all hell breaks loose. Or Elena does. Either way, he almost shags his wife on the bar and dipsmooches Cass so it could have been worse.
- 6th - Who Does Nathan Have To Kill?. Aftermath of the Club DnA incident, between Heidi and Nathan.

- 24th - Two Households Both Alike In Dignity. Ramon Gomez requests lunch with Nathan Petrelli. They talk about the aftermath of the Carter-situation, and form an alliance of kinds.
- 24th - Petrelli Family Values. Peter is visited. They talk about what to do with Heidi and the kids and infra thingies, and avoid the topics of balcony doors and nicknames.
- 31st - I Heart Merlot. A chance visit at Cass's store leads into a more deliberate conversation: Peter's gone off to the future, and has been missing for a few days now. Joy. Cass and Nathan don't see completely eye to eye, but there's one thing they agree on: they both heart New York City. Also, ties.
August, 2007
- 24th - Plot Twists. Elena, who is staying as a housemate throughout August, catches Nathan in on a dirty secret.
- 28th - Peter Petrelli Is A Lezbeen. Jack and Nathan have beer and steak, which is manly, and they speak of twu luv (less manly) and Peter's lesbian relationship with Elena (lol manly?) and the fact that he is in the future. >(

- 10th - None The Worse For Wearing Dresses. During a Scrabble game with Jack, Peter drops by and gives Jack some futurific advice. What Nathan gleans from this is something about crossdressing and Cass's boyfriend. Then they all play cards.
- 11th - New York State Of Mind. Jane stops by and greatly improves the quality of Nathan's campaign jingles almost singlehandedly. Nathan gets points for picking Billy Joel, though.
- 11th - The Darker Poisons. Isn't it sort of unfair for the future to just sneak up on you like this? Ramon offers some advice to Nathan on his possible future, and Nathan realises that there's more at stake than just, you know, the whole world.
