A quiet young man who comes from the deep south, Aiden is polite and almost like a puppy dog, extremely sweet. Then again, he does occasionally get a strange gleam in his eye…
History
Aiden was born and raised on Avery Island, a place well known for its creation of Tabasco products used throughout the world to this day. A small settlement, he grew up in a place where everyone knew everyone, and kept an eye on everything. He and his family, with his mother and two sisters, had a simple life. He grew up on the back of an ATV, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, as well as trips off-shore with his father. Throughout his entire life, he was quite content with simplicity, much happier riding through the land on his ATV, or through nearby swamplands on his jet ski.
All of that changed, however, in 2007. At 17, Aiden was in a fist fight with two others boys, a pair of bullies who had never got on with Aiden and his no-bull attitude; the fact that the 'leader' of the two's sister and Aiden had been talking only made matters worse. While Aiden was never half bad in a brawl, he was certainly no match for two larger, stronger boys. He had knocked the smaller of the two's front teeth out, only to be pummeled to the ground. As they beat him, something snapped in him; he wished he could make them feel all of the pain they had ever inflicted on him, throughout his life. He wished that he could teach them a lesson. And then, it happened. All of a sudden, both boys practically fell flat on their backs, writhing and screaming in what could only be excruciating pain. It took him but a moment to realize that HE was the one doing this, somehow; he promptly got on his ATV and drove away as fast as he could, horrified
Secluding himself in a remote part of the swamplands he had called home his entire life, Aiden began to explore his ability. It was fairly simple to use the wildlife to his advantage. At first, all he could do was make creatures feel pain; he would sneak up on squirrels, deer, alligators, and all other manners of wildlife, and with a simple thought of 'pain', he could cause their nerves to send the sensation of pain to the creatures' brains. This helped him seclude himself, despite the fact that he knew he would be missed at home; surely food was not difficult to obtain, and he had lived amongst the swamplands his entire life. Over the next year and a half, he lived like this, returning home every once in a while (much to his parent's relief) to restock on fuel and supplies, only to disappear within a few days, not to be heard of again for another month or two.
Slowly, he learned the ins and outs of his abilities, while also training himself to control it around others, to avoid the possibility of getting mad at someone in line. He learned of his ability to effect nerves positively (and indeed 'befriended' a few animals this way before killing them for the sustenance they provided), and to some extent, his ability to control the movements of a single target. Finally, when he determined that he was 'safe' to be around the human public once more (in his eyes), he returned to Avery Island. His parents, overjoyed after barely seeing their son for such a long time, accepted him back into his home with open arms, and readily accepted his explanation that he had needed time to figure himself out in the land that he loved. Alas, it would not last for long.
After a year of working on Avery Island, Aiden began to aspire for something bigger and better. He felt that his talents were wasted on such a small town, where everyone knew everyone. So, he departed, taking the truck that he had been gifted with at 16, and armed with a lifetime of savings, he made his way north. First, he went to Baton Rouge; there, he discovered the 'up-side' to his abilities; it could aid in day-to-day interactions, as it could aid in other endeavors of a physical nature. Amused by this, he abused his abilities, drawing women to him like a magnet while in the capitol of his state. However, he quickly grew weary of this; with a final act of robbing a convenience store and making it look as though the cashier was simply handing him the money, Aiden left Louisiana in a storm, making his way toward the northeast coast of the states. Thus he lived, travelling from city to city, abusing his ability without looking like he was doing so. His travels finally bring him to New York City…who knows what waits for him there?
Timeline
- Upon arriving in New York, Aiden has already started doing things to make himself known. Thus far, he's already helped a wheelchair-bound woman to walk, and has agreed to join Church of the Blessed Word, working with Dean Haynesworth.
