Turns out the brother of a former grad-school roommate is now a congressman from New York. Oh, yeah, he was also attempting to take down the part of the government capturing specials. Now he's up for re-election against some upstart candidate, and I'm not even registered to vote in New York!
After coming back from NOLA and the Deepwater Horizon spill, a random run-in at a local sandwich shop turned into a walk Battery park until the late night hours…and that turned into going out to dinner.
Of course, that turned into a kiss on the street corner that might have caused the USGS needles to move a little bit!
First she stole my purse. Then she stole my freedom. Then she helped orchestrate a plot to get me out in a body bad. Then she took me into her home and got me a job. Now she's taking bullets for us all in the Amazon. I'd say that she's on the 'friend' side of frenemy.
Another of the captors-turned-Amazon muscle. She helped locked me up, then so dutifully informed me that yes, Newton's Third Law applies to human suffering. It's hard to get a read on her…and that doesn't seem to be an accident.
One of the bosses of Lane Industries. First, he was nice enough to get me a 'normal' job after time spent sequestered from the world, and now he's leading us through the Amazon on a quest. I don't quite know all the details of his secret life, but he's going through a hell of a lot to make sure we all get back.
The team photographer. She's very upbeat and always snapping photos of the scenery, which is actually really beautiful when we're not being shot at, separated, or faced with other obstacles. She can make some sort of forcefields too, which has been preeeeeeety handy so far.
Ever felt like there are animals watching you? Yeah, now imagine that with jaguars and stuff. Dee can talk to them and have them help us out, which is a surprisingly good feeling when you know they aren't looking to eat you. She also seems to have caused the crazy animal behavior on Ward's Island, including a buck that took a few bumps and bruises for me.
You know that feeling you get when you're sick to your stomach and your knees go weak? Like when they feel all watery and rubbery? Jamie's pretty much that feeling. When things turn sour, she liquefies and gets the heck out of dodge. I can't blame her! She's so young and hanging out in the Amazon with all of us!
She likes shoes! One of the first friends to be made in New York, and a secret-bearer to what I can do. She helped keep the police off our tail when we were mugged in NYC. When the G-Men came calling though, we lost touch. Whether she was captured or not, I have no idea.
Hallis should almost go in the frenemy tab. Almost. First, a simple misunderstanding turned into a blowup in a restaurant. Then it turned into relationship advice, and then a rather unlikely friendship. I like to think I help keep her grounded…for what it's worth.
It turns out that she's part of the reason I'm not in prison. Girl can make viruses, and apparently well enough that they can be used to mimic death! Along with Cody, she was sort of in charge of the house we all lived in for a while after getting busted out.
First met him in government captivity. It's very hard to keep a secret around him, seeing as how he can read minds. He seems nice enough though, and in a way, it's comforting that he get a peek of the night terrors I suffered. Turns out he has a wife and kid outside of the prison.
Perpetually upbeat Southern girl who was also locked up with me. She had to have her birthday in that place. She too moved into the warehouse after being busted out.
The sympathetic doctor inside the protocol holding facility. Her and her sister Erin were key parts in getting a lot of the folks out of there…even if it meant almost dying and being snuck out through the incinerator!
