Bunny W. is a tattoo artist in the Village. She's known for her stylized designs, non traditional use of color, and affection for layers of clothing. Look for her at Village Ink from noon to midnight, at least five days a week!

History

If Bunny were born in another time, she might have been a sweet southern belle, raised on a plantation with servants and lemonaid and a sturdy sense of propriety, and decorum. But she was born in a trailer park to a Tennessee born stripper and a pit boss in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ain't life just like that sometimes?

Her parents kept weird hours, and she was mostly never supervised. This led, of course, to the usual childhood rebellions like smoking and drinking coupled with a smattering of larceny and amoral behavior. Crime, crime, crime. Boys, boys, boys. By sixteen, she had her first tattoo, and had done several others on other people the ballpoint pen ink way. Despite the general lack of discipline, Bunny could draw, and she could draw pretty well. Art was the only class she was interested in attending in school, and she barely passed that.

Bun dated an apprentice tattooist for a while, after meeting him in the back of a cruiser when an underground rave was broken up, when she was 17. One thing led to another, and she fell in love. She dumped the guy, and kept his tattoo machine. Tattoo = love.

A few years in Vegas, loads of flash, and a few tattoo conventions under her belt, and Bunny left the city of sin. Weird things were happening* there, and it just wasn't her scene anymore. Plus her pit boss Daddy died, and it's just no longer acceptable livin' in your momma's trailer when she's debuting a new take-home customer every night. What? It's easier to save up money when ya live in your Momma's trailer.

Bunny chose her destination for its difference from Vegas. She wanted as far away from the SouthWest as possible without actually bouncing off of Europe. New York City seemed just the ticket. Until she got there, then it just seemed cold. And concrete. And grey. Bunny drew on her mother's Southern reserves of cheerfulness, not to mention the accent that persisted despite her best efforts to eradicate it, and applied for jobs all over. A shop took her in, and she hasn't looked back since. Well, maybe a couple of times. Like when it snows a lot.
