New York

Much like the rooms Niki and Nathan were kept in, Mohinder finds himself in very much the same. Isolated, restrained and sedated via IV drip. For the most part he's been left alone, and spared much of the torture the other two were briefly faced with. Given that he's a normal human without any gifts or abilities. By himself inside the room, there are two 'first responder' guards standing in front of the door. Both are armed with what appear to be handguns and dart pistols. Unseen in this area is a backup. Just in case.

Face bruised from where the 'delivery man' had smashed it with a vase, the pain is a mild blur for Mohinder. Or rather, he knows it's there, but doesn't much care, owing to the sedation. As he comes to, he struggles to focus on his surroundings, and the identification of the drug that is coursing through his system.

The good doctor may not have abilities, himself, but he's garnered interest from some who do. Some that have a certain speedster on their payroll. An indistinguishable blur passes through most of the rest of the building but the light guard service at one particular door gets said blur's attention. After streaking too far down the hallway, Daphne turns the corner and zips right back the other way, passing between the two armed men. Mid-stride, she relieves one of them of their handgun before making it around to the other side of the restrained man inside. Tilting her head, she mutters, "Well, you /look/ like a Mohinder," before pulling at the restraints.

Daphne's fast, but not fast enough to not be noticed by the guard duty. There is confusion left in her wake by the blurring lines of her movement. The missing gun isn't noticed immediately, but both guards look at each other in confusion.

Unaware of anything outside the room, Mohinder loses the fight against keeping his eyes open. When Daphne speaks however, his eyes force open as he turns his head to look at the woman. His vision is mildly blurred from the medication, and his first instinct is to try and pull away. The geneticist doesn't know what reason Daphne's here for. She might as well be someone working here! (Wherever 'here' is.) "Who are you?" he asks slowly and thickly, instead of confirming his identity.

"Looks like I'm the one saving your butt," Daphne replies distractedly, keeping a glance up every now and then for when the guards decide to look in here. A little speed-boost helps with the rest of the restraints but then the girl pauses, gives Mohinder's shoulder a shake, "Hey, pay attention. If I yank this thing out of you, you're not gonna keel over, right?" 'This' being the taped down needle in his arm.

Mohinder can hardly focus on a hand in front of his face, let alone a speeding blur of a person. It's almost enough to make ones' eyes cross. He looks up at Daphne when she shakes his shoulder, trying to keep his attention in one place. Namely, the face of his rescuer. "I.. I don't think so.. it.." he trails off, eyes shutting tight as he tries to think. "feels like a sedation medicine.. can't.. place it." Not that the exact cocktail or brand would interest Daphne, but it just seems important to him. Giving his mind something to work on through the fog.

Daphne's gaze is very briefly conflicted. Or maybe it's a trick of the medication because the practical way she pulls the tape off Mohinder's arm reflects no such concern at all. She's slightly more careful with the removal of the needle. Daphne holds the needle up curiously but then discards it just as quickly. Little sedative drops dribble onto the floor. "Okay, get up," she tells Mohinder then, softer, "Can you get up?"

".. I think so.." Mohinder says as he tries to force himself up, and finding his limbs a little difficult to work with. Sitting upright with effort, he gives Daphne a searching look, perhaps trying to place her, or study the woman's face. "What of the others?" he asks, unable to recall if Niki and Nathan were taken as well, or what became of them.

Outside the room, raised voices are heard from the guards as they check rooms in the immediate vicinity. It won't take long before they check this particular room.

Daphne shifts impatiently under the slowness of his movements, unforgiving for the fact that he's been kidnapped and sedated. "Yeah, somebody else is on that," she answers, looking to the door as the noises get closer and then checking to see if that's the only way in and out, "We drew straws. You're gonna want to be on your feet for this." And she's gonna give him all of two more seconds. That's the time it takes for her to zip over to the door and peek to see how close the company is.

The company is far too close for comfort. As a matter of fact, the guards are in the process of opening the door as Daphne gets her peek.

Mohinder tries to process this information given to him. The IV drip may be gone, but it's going to be some time before the medication is out of his system. Daphne's fast movements are and aren't noticed. Some part of his mind is fascinated by this ability but it's filed away for future reference. Carefully, he pushes himself to his feet. Major questions like who are you, where am I and why am I here will have to be asked later, when timing allows more for that sort of thing.

Bah! Typical guards, always busting in at the wrong moment! Daphne slides with the movement of the opening door for a moment before buzzing around the corner of it and outside once there's enough room. Now behind the two men, she puts out her hands and shoves them both in the back—hopefully at least enough to make them stumble. Since she's already standing here, she decides to lean forward and grab for the remaining handgun; she aims to toss it down the hallway.

The guards may be in top shape and /good/ at their job, but against Daphne's speed? They aren't fast enough, and who is? Unless you can manipulate time that is. The guards are pushed, they do stumble and the remaining gun is grabbed by Daphne. Guard #2, thinking he still has his gun, finds it missing from the earlier nabbing, shouts for backup, "Don't let him out alive!" Guard #1, quickly recovering from the Daphne assisted stumble pulls out his dart gun and pops off his shot in the woman's direction.

Bracing himself against the chair similar to one found in dentist offices, Mohinder stares towards the door, watching Daphne move. /Fascinating./ The marveling doesn't last long however at the shouts, "How are we getting out of here?," he asks hurriedly in a thick tone.

Nyeh, nyeh! That's what Daphne's body-language is saying as she easily ducks the attempted missile and speeds behind Guard #1, this time giving him a kick behind the knees. There's not much strength to her, but by now the girl knows how to use her speed to her advantage. She feels like—what? Oh, right, there's a Mohinder in here. When the blur of her arrives at his side, she's grinning. The expression drops, however, for this warning: "You throw up on me or anything and I'm dumping you right there." Then it's grab Mohinder's hand and go-go-go!

Again, the guard stumbles, caught off balance and by ah, guard, at the kick delivered by Daphne. Guard #2 fires off his dart at the pair while the backup is quick to arrive, firing his weapon in Mohinder's direction.

Daphne's warning to Mohinder is met with a blank stare and a blink. He has no doubt in his mind that the rapid speed of her movement could have that repercussion for any passengers in tow. Alas, that thought process is quickly derailed as his hand is grabbed. Suresh's reaction time is greatly impaired, as well as his focus. There's little time to process the multiple things taking place as he's towed.

Hey, third guy! Who asked /you/ to come along? … Oh, right. The guards. Whatever! Cause now it's a Daphne-and-Mohinder blur that takes the long route around the room away from the bullet and dart and out the door before they can have the thought to close it. Bye bye now!
