History
Dani was born Daniel Anthony Stone on October 30th, 1982 in Chicago, IL, the eldest child of Elizabeth and Michael Stone. The twins, Anthony and Nicole, were born two years later. His parents were both talented artists. His mother was an art teacher and his father a comic book artist. As a child, his parents would entertain him with coloring books and crayons. He had a good childhood and loving parents, doing very well in school, his best class being art. He and his siblings got a long for the most part. Throughout his entire childhood, his artistic talent started to grow. In the seventh grade, he met a girl named Allison Marino. They soon became quick friends. They hung out constantly and were hardly ever apart.

In the fall of his freshman year, he finally gathered the courage to express his feelings for her and asked her out. They were the perfect couple. He knew instantly that she was the one that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. He was madly in love with her. On March 15th, 1999, Dani's world came crashing down around him. He was driving Ally home from a movie when the car they were driving was hit by a drunk driver. The car spun out of control before slamming into a light pole and rolling over several times. Dani was critically injured and slipped into unconsciousness. He was unconscious for several weeks. When he awoke, he learned that Allison was killed instantly, taking the news very hard.
He spent several more weeks in the hospital, recovering from the wounds while he mourned the loss of Allison. When he became well enough, he moved away from Chicago, trying to run from the guilt that he felt from the accident. He found himself in New York where he got an apprenticeship at a tattoo parlor. He quickly fell in love with it. Seeing the joy that could be brought to someone as the artist creates a work of art on someone's skin. He found that the tattooing brought him the joy that he hadn't felt since he was with Allison. A year later, he became a fully fledged tattoo artist. He had soon began to return to the person he once was.
In the summer of 2003, he once again moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia. He took up shop in one of the few tattoo parlors along the boardwalk. He had continued to work on his art, tattooing many of the sailors that came from the Navy base. He was enjoying his new life and began to enjoy himself more, but this was not meant to last.

On October 11, 2004, his world came crashing down once again around him. This was the day that he lost his entire family. He was working at the shop when he was approached by a uniformed police officer. He informed Dani that his entire family was murdered at their home. When Dani first heard the news, he was devastated. He lost everything that he had left in the world. He was the only family that he had.
After the news, Dani packed up again and moved. He drove around the country for some time before he ended up back in New York City. He lived in his car for a few weeks before he was able to find work in the shop that he worked in previously and find himself an apartment. Three months after the incident, Dani's life had changed once again.
After working late at the tattoo parlor, Dani had finished locking up and was on his way home when he was jumped by a group of thugs. While Dani was never one to roll over, he fought back. As he was fighting the thugs back, the thugs managed to throw Dani against a wall and he slipped into the shadows that were created in the alley. The thugs, upon seeing this, became confused and a bit freaked out. They left and Dani was left alone. He climbed out of the shadows and stumbled home, not sure what had happened to him.
As time passed, Dani gained more control and began to understand his powers a lot better. He has learned to perform several more tricks with it, even being able to create shadows and objects out of the darkness. He continues to work at the tattoo parlor, trying to lead what normal life he can. Most of the nights, he is out on the streets, racing the car he spends some of his time working on in order to make more money.
Description
Dani is a young man who appears to be in his early twenties. He stands six feet, two inches tall and has a lean and muscular build. Dark red hair tops his head, framing angular face and follows resting at his jaw line. A pair of green eyes stares out before him. Above his eyes are two thin and narrow eyebrows, a silver hoop resting through his left eyebrow. He has a short, narrow nose and thin set of lips which either can look very mean or extremely generous, but always has a slight smirk about them. A silver tongue ring can be seen when he speaks.
He is dressed in a nice button up t-shirt that has been left unbuttoned and a pair of loose fitting blue jeans. Underneath the button up shirt is a gray shirt that shows the Pink Floyd logo. On his feet is a pair of black sneakers. On his left wrist is a hand made bracelet and a full-sleeve tattoo covers his right arm, disappearing up the shirt's sleeve. Around his neck is a dual-sided razor blade that hangs from a silver chain.

Dani's right arm has a full-sleeve tattoo resembles fire done in black and gray. The spaces between the flames are done in black. The entire tattoo runs from his wrist up to his shoulder.
A small tattoo on his left wrist of a heart can be seen, the tip of the heart pointing towards his palm.
On his back is a black and grey tattoo of a graveyard scene with a woman in a flowing gown walking through the tombstones. Above the scene is the words: 'Join Me In Death' in Old English lettering.
On his left calf is a tattoo of four roses that look as if they're bleeding. On the steam of the roses is a name, different ones in each rose. The names read: Elizabeth, Michael, Nicole and Anthony.
On his chest is a tattoo that reads: RIP Allison Marino 1986 - 2006
Phobia
Dani is severely cleithrophobic, the fear of being locked in an enclosed place. While he can enter confined spaces, he will be reluctant to do so, even more so if there is only one way out of the space. He is able to control himself if there is multiple ways out or if the space he is in has a long opening. If he is locked in an enclosed place, he will be reduced to curling up into a ball, unable to move. But if he is able to muster up enough courage, he can try to find his way out of the location.

The Triumvirate of Tattooing
The joining of forces and pooling of resources is, most of the time, a very viable business concept. Even in tattooing, by and large a solitary type of occupation, artists have increasingly come to the conclusion that perhaps less isn't always more.
Take the Urban Exchange studio in Virginia Beach, for example. Here, three very talented young artists have set aside any urges to compete with each other and decided instead to find out what would happen if they open up a studio together. Jason Keens, Dani Stone, and Nikki Thomas have known each other for some time, and although they origionally come from three different areas, their tattoo paths crossed frequently, especially on the convention circut.
Urban Exchange is a fairly recent venture, but from the looks of it, it's also a very promising one. "We signed the lease in January and opened the shop in early May," says Dani Stone, at 20, the youngest of the triumvirate.
Originally from Chicago, Dani spent his formative years in New York and discovering his passion there. "I've been tattooing for only a year," he says, "I started at Slinging Ink Tattoo up in New York working for Mark Goldfield. I worked for him for three months, then I moved over to FTW in Norfolk and worked there for a few months. I then found myself here."

Dani Stone - The Tattoo Craftsman
Although he was officially on vacation, Dani Stone was inking away… except his subject wasn't human. "I'm tattooing a pumpkin for a pumpkin tattooing contest in Pittsburg next month," says Dani. "Last year the final day of the show landed on Halloween, so out of the blue a guy pulled out a pumpkin and tattooed it. The judges got into it and judged it, and now a tattooed pumpkin contest is part of this year's show. Funny, the pumpkin skin doesn't feel that much different than human skin when you're tattooing it."

This sounds like a good opening for a horror flick, Dani working up a skull and roses on the pumpkin. Besides painting pumpkins, we asked him what other kinds of tattooing was he into. "You name it and I've given it a shot."
His tattoo career began at the age of 17 when he moved to New York and got an apprenticeship at a local shop after recovering from a car accident. "I started to tattoo as a means of escape at the loss of my girlfriend, Ally, who died in the accident." Dani states, "and I found that it brought me a lot of joy to see how happy it can make someone when they get the tattoo that they had imagined." Dani's life has had a lot of tragedy with the lost of his family was murdered in Chicago. "My whole family was there and I was an orphan in the matter of a second."
Asked to describe his style of skin art Dani replies, "Well, I don't really think I have a style per se, because it's different every time. While I like to do color, large color, I do enjoy black and gray but just think that you can bring out a while different realm of depth, dimension and detail when you do color as opposed to black and gray. I'm open to all schools of thought and constantly absorbing new stuff from all sorts of sources. Since we're in a big military town and in Virginia, we get lots of anchors and other military emblems. But I have a lot of buddies that come and ask for stuff we like doing. Right now, I'm doing a half sleeve with Herman and Lily Munster with a big haunted house. And in a couple days I'm starting a very large image of a Frazetti fantasy woman. And I'm also working on another extra large tattoo on the leg of my buddy's girlfriend, Shawna, a two and a half foot tall geisha girl, something I've been working on for the past four months.
