Trina Mah-Derex. Mechanic for the Saints. Jack's more diplomatic and sweet-talking SO.

Most of the time.

When the war broke out and then New York went to shit, Trina stayed by the side of her boss and lover, Jack Derex. They made do the best they could and always seemed to muddle through somehow. When he established the bar as a safe haven in the underground railroad for humans fleeing the city, she supported him and helped him keep people moving to safety.

When the Den of Iniquity was destroyed by a bomb and her beau nearly went with it, her world changed. She barely spoke until he finally woke up, and after that she was much more careful about the words she chose. The young woman became more private and reserved, increasingly distrustful of everyone about her, and less likely to do anything that might rock their supremely delicate boat upon the dangerously turbulent waters.

That was, of course, after she tracked down the sons of bitches who dared try to kill her man and creatively rewired their pretty little van to feed a few sparks back into the gas tank to blow their pathetic asses back to the oozing pit of Hell where Nathan Petrelli found them. In pieces. Hundreds of charred and oozing pieces.

Her support of Jack's decision to become more actively involved in 'terrorist activities' was unwaivering despite the strain it frequently put on their relationship, and his increasingly organized group of activists needed to keep their vehicles on the road. That's when she started quietly doing her part to make sure that happened. Throw in her driving and mechanic skills and limited firearms training, and you have the reason she soon become a highly valued member of the team. Also, making sure the boss gets his manly needs met on a fairly regular basis helps.

While she is still a terrible liar, she has become pretty damned talented at using her good looks as well as sugar-coating and withholding the truth to anyone outside of the Saints to get what she wants or needs. She may not be any more learned, but she at least manages to look more refined in public than in years past. The more illegal procurements and actual deceptions she leaves to more skillful hands. The survival of the Saints is a priority of the utmost importance to her, and they can count on Katrina to always do her part. To that end, her powers have been trained up to be something appropriately efficient to keep lives safe on the battlefield and have proven invaluable in numerous missions.

Publicly, she goes by her more formal full name of Katrina and is no longer the inseparable other half of Jack's life. It's something she's taken on as part and parcel of keeping him safe. That's the unspeakable joy of being hopelessly in love with someone who's considered to be a terrorist leader by a fascist regime. In the quiet and safety of the Saints Circle and in their secret little home, however, they are still very much an item and she is faithfully ever at his beck and call.

  • The Name Game. Trina has made a personal game of finding as many names as possible to call President Petrelli. She will consider the game won when she finally finds a perfect phrase that does all four.
