Fathers Day

Sing Sing

Visiting Hour(s).

Daniel Lawerence Hawkins is led through the cells of Sing-Sing and into the visiting area. Not having Niki or Micah anymore, D.L. looks a little less than normal. He looks lost and drained. Dried blood is even on his face from the things he's stopped doing. Like fighting back. At any rate, he's led through the cells and into the visiting area, where he remains in the extended shackles to make sure his visitor is safe. He doesn't even look up to figure out who has come to see him, knowing that it can only be law enforcement of some kind.

"Mister Hawkins."

There standing as calmly as he can be is Noah Bennet, dressed in his suit and looking crisp and profession on the other side of the glass. There are no other visitors or prisoners. Guards are present perhaps something not even Noah could dismiss… After all, D.L. is a murderer in their eyes. A keen eye would notice that the light on the security camera is off. Not all at disturbed by the blood the man wears, Noah gives a small, but mirthless, smile.

"I was hoping we could chat."

D.L. seems to drag his feet a little bit as he approaches the glass. He doesn't look very trusting or anything of any nature that could be considered a good thing. He's been living in this hell hole for months now and it's starting to get to him. Not that he can't leave any time he wants to. Maybe this is some kind of penance or something like that. "I don't need a lawyer." is all that he says, making sure to keep his hands where everyone can see them. He doesn't need another death on his hands… or conscience.

The Man in the Horn-Rimmed Glasses gives a brief smile, acting as if he were the picture next to the definition of 'calm'. "You don't," Noah simply states.

This, of course, has D.L. raising an eyebrow and staring through the glass at the man with the Horn-Rimmed Glasses. As if he's trying to study and figure him out. It's not working out too well, that's for damn sure. "At some point, you're going to tell me what you are then, right?" Daniel Lawerence is already figuring this to be another secret visit from the press. His story made the papers, after all.

"We talked in the elevator. You don't remember, do you? You were there with a blonde woman. Told you were Linderman was so you could kill him."

Noah states the fact before removing his glasses, cleaning them with a clean hanky from pocket inside his jacket. D.L. might notice the holstered gun if he is studying enough. As he cleans, he says, "It's okay if you don't remember, you've had a busy couple of years."

Maybe he doesn't quite remember, because there's issues with everything being said and memories and stuff. The memories are vague, but when certain things are said, D.L.'s mind jerks back into a flashback sequence and then there's going to be something close to the fact that he's remembering vividly. "Niki." Not blonde woman. He finally decides that he's going to be somewhat civil. "That was you?" He looks down at the fist used to do that deed and smirks. "Thanks, by the way."

"Yes, Niki." Did Noah know the name all the time or is he just playing along? As usual, the Company Man gives few if any clues. Putting his glasses back on, Noah gives a confident smirk in return. The cloth is tucked back into the proper pocket as he continues. "I should be the one that thank you. While your motives were selfish, the deed itself helped a great many people."

Noah straights his jacket with a simple tug before leaning forward oh so faintly. "Of course, I'm giving you the chance to do so again. A noble act that you can do for entirely selfish reasons."

D.L. narrows his eyes and immediately takes a step back. Mostly because he's going to need the room in case this is some kind of set up and he has to run away like the dickens. Or something. "I don't do those things anymore. That's why I'm in here in the first place." But figuring he might as well play with this in a funny way, he does look up at Noah and raise an eyebrow. "Unless Linderman has a son or something. I don't think I'd mind keeping it in the family." The tone is a kidding one, if only to make sure he doesn't get thrown in the hole or something. Damn Guards.

HRG doesn't move an inch at D.L.'s retreat, showing his palms in order to prove his mission is peaceful (or somewhat, at least). "I noticed you don't do much in here. It's just one reason why your wife is missing. I know you regret some of the choices you make, Hawkins…" Leaning forward even more, Noah speaks in a whisper that carries enough for D.L. to get most, if not all, of what he is saying. "But getting shanked in a prison cell is a waste of your talents and more importantly, the worst thing you can do for your family."

"Both you and I know I can't be touched." Maybe D.L. is getting a bit more comfortable with this conversation. And if he's right in assuming that this guy is knowledgeable about his talents, this could prove to be something more than just an arbitrary visit. Stepping back up to the glass at this point, D.L. looks about as interested as he can at the moment. "If you're threatening my son, you and Linderman will be sharing flames in Hell." Must get that threat out of the way.

"As a father… That's not the way I like to operate," Noah announces with a faint grimace. Sighing, Noah pulls back. "However, your son is danger just the same… Possibly by whoever took your wife. I know she doesn't visit you anymore. I know you likely asked her not to. But is abandoning your family really going to make it better for them?"

"Somebody has to pay for what happened. That somebody is me." D.L. sighs a little bit, looking off to the side. He never wanted to put them in more danger. But it's starting to sound like that's what he's done. Which isn't a good thing. "What happened? What's going on with Niki?" He's trying not to sound worried, but if he has to break out of here to help her, then so be it.

Lowering his head to rub his brow, Noah admits, "To be honest, I don't have much in the way of details… Sadly, the people I work for don't find her as important as you would wish they would. However, she has not been found for a few weeks and I only have a few leads I can offer. Of course, there is someone else that is missing as well that is important to ME."

There is a short pause as Noah considers sharing some information or not. He decides to go with no for the time being. "…Should you help me find the girl gone missing and get her to safety, I'll help you find your wife and do all I can in my power to keep your son under the radar." Noah pulls out a picture of a girl in a cheerleading uniform. It's Claire giving a smile. Despite knowing better, Noah can't help but look at the picture with pain in his eyes. His baby is out there, somewhere… And he will save her no matter what it takes. Sliding the picture for D.L. to look at. "There is even a chance those responsible for taking the girl I'm looking for are the same as those that took your wife. Should you choose to help, you will no longer be confined by crimes you didn't commit… And I'll give you a new way to repay society for your family's sins and be what your son needs most: A hero."

D.L. stares at the picture. In that picture he sees everything that he never had. He sees Niki. He sees Micah. He sees the family life that they enjoyed for brief intervals in between the madness that consumed the couple and their son. He sees this man in front of him and, as a father, can tell that this is something serious. That she's some relation to him. Likely his daughter. It's all flooding into D.L.'s head at a moment's notice. The freedom. The clean record. The fact that he can get something done that may actually do something for someone else. He's really starting to see the big picture. His eyes drop down to look at the chained cuffs that are connected to his wrists, ankles and he starts to phase through the ones on his wrists, just to see if he's still got it. A phase later, his wrists are still locked in those things. It takes a long moment before he looks back up at the eyes of HRG.

"I'm in."

"I promise you… I won't forget this." With that, Noah rises. "Whenever I speak to you, if I refer to you the back of this card…" Noah stops himself to pull out a card with his contact information. It's an old card, citing Noah Bennet as working in Odessa, Texas. The office number is crossed off, but the cell phone is still good. "…be ready for anything and on your guard. You're about to enter a world with people just as dangerous as yourself and your wife. But you'll have someone to help you along this time… To watch your back." The card is slid under the glass, Noah's name down. The handwritten code name? Ghost.

Taking it and palming it, D.L. makes sure the card disappears into his clothes with the quickness. He nods along with the instructions and then holds up his chained arms. "When does this problem go away?" he asks, suddenly very anxious to be released from this doomed prison of evilness. It's not the best place to be when you're trying to raise a son.

"You'll be getting a call from the governor pardoning you soon due to recent evidence that will surfacing soon. Not exactly evidence that you'd approve of, but considering you didn't do the crime, I figure it's alright if the evidence is just as factual." Noah's words are whispered, not exactly wishing the guards to hear that. Pulling back, Noah readies himself to walk off. "I'll get in contact with you when the time is right. In the meantime, go home whenever you are ready. Be there for your son, learn what you can."

D.L. is not about to try and keep this guy here longer than he has to be. In fact, there's just so much going on in his mind right now that he can hardly keep up with the craziness. There's freedom on the other end of this conversation and that's all that matters. "Thank you." is said to Noah, before D.L. realizes that he's about to walk out of this place a free man. Finally. "And… we'll get her back. I know what it's like." But he leaves it at that. Because now he's determined to repent for all the sins he's made. With this one girl.

Save The Cheerleader. Save The Marriage.

"I know you do. It's why I came. Good day, Mister Hawkins and take care."

With that, Noah turns around and walks toward the door. He leaves Hawkins with the picture, letting her be ingrained into his memory. Besides, Noah knows his Claire will be free soon… Or people will learn what sort of monster a father can be for their children.
