"Fox Gets A New Caretaker"

Hanner Manor

Hiro couldn't just let Kitty run off upset like she was. But then, he did have to try and rein his powers in long enough to actually find out where Shannon went so that he could bring her back to the present. That matter taken care of, however, he immediately turns his attention back to seeking out his upset (ex-?) girlfriend. He isn't quite sure where to find her but a little research (he's good at that sometimes) allows him to find the Manor which serves as her house. And not wanting to upset her more, he appears on the doorstep and knocks.

A wide eyed Kitty opens the door, "Hi." She says simply. It would seem that Kitty is in the middle of something. Her hair is up in a messy bun and she is wearing relaxed clothes, jeans and a tank top. Her eyes travel Hiro's face and she smiles weakly. "Kind of dramatic back there, eh?" she says and opens the door for Hiro to walk in, there are a few suitcases packed up and ready at the door.

"Have to hide for a while." She says and looks down at the crowd. "Especially, after what I plan on doing tomorrow night." The young woman looks up at Hiro.

"Just be safe," Hiro asks, not venturing to tell her not to go or asking her to let him go with her - it seems he is determined to give her some space and not try to force his way back into her life. He steps into the house when he is allowed, tugging absentmindedly on the sleeves of his jacket, "I'm sorry I disappeared. I was not able to stop it."

"I will." She says and looks down at her hands. "I'm sorry I was so.. angry. It was stupid because you didn't have control." Kit looks to Hiro and shuffles her feet awkwardly. "I was just making cookies?" she says and walks into the kitchen, hoping Hiro follows her, she grabs a cookie from the plate and chews on it. "Mind looking after Fox while I'm gone?" she says and smiles softly, her sister does need a safe place to stay. "I don't want to government coming after her."

"I will look after her, then," Hiro promises, sounding entirely committed to that course of action since Kitty asked, "She should come and stay in my Building. She is safest there … I will be able to teleport her away if anything happens." He follows after her, looking at the cookie plate and watching her. He seems nervous, as though he's walking on eggshells.

"Take a cookie?" she asks, "I mean- you don't have too but I spent some time on them." She grins lightly and then offers one to Hiro. "Ok, thank you for helping me with her, I'm worried about her." Kit sighs and leans against the counter, "I found out I have a new brother.. he's seventeen." Still making Kitty the oldest sibling.. WHY OH WHYYY.

"But I'm sure he's safe.. for now."

Hiro nods his head in reply, remaining silent as he reaches out to take a cookie when one is offered. Right now, he looks like a man who has many things he wants to say but isn't able to twist them into the words he needs. He chews on the cookie for a bit, listening to the news.

"And tomorrow, things are going to get crazy and I don't want to leave any loose-." It's then that Kitty just throws her hands up and walks closer to Hiro. "Look.. I don't want things to be this way. You made a mistake that wasn't your fault.. I overreacted.. and I.." she leans in and kisses Hiro, a sweet and soft kiss. Her eyes closing, hands on Hiro's shoulders.

Hiro is startled by the kiss but, really, he usually is. Almost every time they've kissed it has resulted in him being surprised simply because he really, really didn't expect it. All the same, he returns it enough to not seem entirely like a wet fish. When they finally part, he clears his throat a little bit and speaks:

"I tried to get back. Every day."

Fox unlocks the front door and steps into the foyer, just now arriving home from school. After closing the door, she drops her knapsack and pulls off her overly-worn sneakers one at a time, then pads softly, almost soundlessly, to the kitchen to rummage for junkfood for an after-school snack. But upon reaching it, she spots Kitty and Hiro very close together and freezes like a deer caught in someone's headlights.

"I know you did." She says running a hand over Hiro's hair and looking at him with a smile, she's missed the guy. He was her rock in some circumstances, she leaned on him for support and as she begins to say something else. It's like every older sibling has this radar of younger sibling in the room. She blinks and Kit grins softly in Fox's direction.

Hiro blinks a couple times as well, looking over at Fox and then back at Kitty. He looks a little 'deer in headlights' himself, apparently uncertain about what exactly one does in this sort of situation.

"Ummmm…hi?", Fox squeaks out with a sheepish grin. Blushing slightly at having crashed a private moment, she begins slowly backing away. Once she passes a certain cabinet though, she pauses, and quickly opens it to retrieve a Twinkie. Then she nonchalantly continues backing up toward the door.

"Hold it, right there." Kit says with a wide grin. "You remember Hiro." She says and waves her hand in his direction. "You'll staying with him before the next few weeks. It's getting to dangerous out there, with the government taking people like us." She says simply looking from her sister to Hiro.

Hiro puts his hands at his sides so that he can bow to Fox, attempting to look as non-scary as possible as he does so, "There is a vacant, furnished apartment that you can use while you stay there."

"Um, Hi, Hiro," she says to the Japanese man. Then to her sister, "The next few *weeks*? Is it really that bad? Are you pulling me out of classes too, then? Am I going to be all alone for the whole time?" She looks down at her Twinky, no longer interested in eating it, and sets it aside on the counter. Then she bites her lower lip, and after a moment, steps towards Kitty to give her a tight hug. "I'm…" She hesitates before finishing, "…scared of losing you."

Then she bites her lower lip, and after a moment, steps towards Kitty to give her a tight hug. "I'm…" She hesitates before finishing, "…scared of losing you."

Hiro, in all honesty, is scared of the same thing but when Fox brings it up he remains quiet - turning his head slightly to look at Kitty so that he can hear her response.

Looking down at the younger girl, "Oh you will never lose me sweetie. Never." Kitty embraces Fox warmly and ruffles the girl's hair, feeling the love? Well Hiro should as she shoots him a look also when she says that too Fox, she also means it for Hiro, she won't leave their sides. She cares for them too much.

"What about Robin?", Fox adds to her unanswered questions. "And what should I do if someone comes after me and you're not there?" She finally releases Kitty from the hug to look into her eyes. "And…what about our pizza-and-movie nights?", she seems to ask with the same concern in her voice.

Hiro remains silent, standing off to one side as though to avoid getting in the way of the conversation between siblings.

"Robin isn't really on their radar. But I'll check to make sure he is ok as well as his family." Kit reassures Fox and looks towards Hiro. "We will continue our pizza and movie nights as soon as this is all over, hun. Don't worry."
"Kitty," Hiro says quietly, for once being assertive as he clears his throat to speak further, "I think I should stay here tonight just to make sure everything is alright." He nods, and then he looks mildly horrified, "On the sofa! On the sofa!"

Fox's eyes light up at the prospect of having Hiro over for the night. "We should have a movie night tonight then!", she excitedly suggests. "There's a new film that just came out on DVD…" She walks over to the refrigerator and uses a dry-erase marker to draw the DVD case from memory, then proceeds to abuse her power by reaching into the drawing to extract the DVD from…the video store. Most likely. Although it could be someone else's copy too, you never know.
