Historically, the sword is believed to have belonged to Takezo Kensei. Its existence was doubted for centuries until Linderman acquired it in 1977. It was stolen from his archives in November, 2006 by Hiro and Ando. It seems to help Hiro focus his powers.

The sword was stolen from Hiro in 2007 by Sylar and hidden. However in January, 2008, Gabriel was abducted by Hiro and after a conversation the sword was returned to him.
