Micah has grown up his entire life in the city of Las Vegas, where things can change as easily as walking down the street, or throwing some dice on the table. Having been raised most of his life by his mother, Niki Sanders, he tried his best to live a normal lifestyle by focusing on studies, and his computers. His father was not around much, mostly because he was accused of murder and grand larceny, but also because his mother refused to allow him any contact, and kept the two of them on the move constantly. Despite Micah's protesting, in which he claimed his father was innocent, it seemed that adults 'always know better.' In the back of his heart, he knew the truth. It seemed that from that point on, he would just be any other normal child prodigy with a stripper cam whore mother, and a black father that lived behind bars. If anything, he fit right in with all the other kids at his school.
One day, D.L. came back, and that was when shit hit the fan. The two adults got into an epic fight, both showing the other they each held a personal talent. D.L. can slip through walls, and his mother pretty much became an amazon who can throw cars around like She-Hulk. His father grabbed Micah up, and headed out, trying to find a place for the two to hide out in. His father claimed that Niki was dangerous, but of course, being the devoted son, Micah had his doubts, and tried to convince his father that he was wrong, and the two needed to reconcile. It almost worked, until Jessica showed up, his mother's alter ego, and put a bullet in his father's back. From there, Niki came to her senses, and gave herself up to the police, after having found out that it was Jessica who framed her husband from the start.
Living with his father was difficult. After all, he spent so much time away from him, and with all the dramatics that surfaced over the last few weeks, his life was turned upside down, and he found himself aching for his mom desperately. He and his father quarreled constantly before, and after his classes. Nothing seemed to be normal. His lunch was packed differently, his father sometimes wasn't home until late at night, and he was forgotten to be picked up after school, and frankly, he missed the chance to curl up with his mom at night, and fall asleep during TV. He struggled hard to stay strong, but he longed for this family to be complete, like anyone else's.
When his father was unable to find a 'legit' job, and bring in the money, it was then that Micah decided to take control of the situation, and steal money from an ATM, by convincing it to hand him over the Benjamin's. His father was in shock, and that was when he came clean about his own gifts, that of taking control of machines. Soon after when his mother was released from prison, thanks to the efforts of her alter ego, Jessica, Micah found his family once more reunited, and he was more than happy, finally. Now things can go back to normal, right? … Right?
After the family reunion, things were looking up for Micah, that is, until he was kidnapped by Jessica's former boss, Linderman, and forced him into creating a huge voting scam involving Nathan Petrelli, in which he manipulated all the voting machines across New York to allow the flying Petrelli to wing by a landslide, and achieve a place in the government rankings. While captured, he was taunted by an illusionist by the name of Candice who was parading about as his mother, soon rescued by his real mother, and then met up with Mohinder, and who would soon become his best friend, Molly, and they all escaped, which led them into a confrontation with the villain Sylar, who was in an epic showdown with Peter Petrelli, and Hiro. When the dust, and smoke cleared, he was finally sent home to Las Vegas, then soon after moved to New York to stay with his cousin Monica.
Life in New York was fun, and exciting. Now back in school, Micah has been plowing through his classes easily, and practically achieving the highest marks in his class. His mother finally got a job, sort of, then lost it after she beat the crap out of her boss, and nearly blew the place up, and his father, well… he's dead. That's a long story in of itself. Thanks Jessica, you bitch. Despite his high grades, and the friendship which only grows stronger between him and Molly (Who also lives in New York), Micah has shut himself in a bit. He's not the happy, chipper little tyke anymore these days, and there is a definite hardness in his eyes that wasn't there before. Life has finally got to him, and he's taking it at a slower, easier pace. Right now, he's at an all time low, and who knows what it will take to perk him up. Maybe an X-Box 360 for Christmas?
Micah did get the X-Box 360. Oh yes. Though it came with more of a surprise. D.L. His father. It was like seeing a ghost. Except this ghost wasn't a ghost at all. He was real. The reunion was met with tears of joy. And for yet another time, Micah thought they might actually have a chance at a normal life. But when does that ever happen, right? Micah had a small rebellious streak during this time, sneaking out to attend a performance in Central Park by a famous magician. But it wasn't just a simple magic show. Oh no. Disrupted by two Evolved who, for some reason, just seemed bent on destruction. Escaping unharmed, Micah was rescued by his mom, Niki, who also picked up a stray.
Enter Cam. Who would soon become a close friend to Micah. Especially after showing off his ability to both Micah and his mom. Cam and Micah bonded as friends, despite going to two different schools. And while it looked like things were fine, they would soon once again take a grim turn. When a social worker shows up, and starts poking her nose into things…it was only a matter of time. When Iris threatened to take the children away, Niki, well more likely Jessica, snapped and killed her. In an attempt to keep mother and son together, D.L. takes the rap for the killing and starts serving time in Sing Sing.
After only a couple of visits, Micah learns that his father no longer wants to see them. That he feels it is the better of the two choices. Are we seeing a theme here? Micah is hurt, deep. But together him and his mom survive the best they can. Until….his mom goes missing. After some nonsense with Pinehearst, Micah ended up with both of his parents again. They moved to Niagra Falls and things seemed perfect… until DL and Niki died on vacation in a building collapse. Cam and Micah had managed to escape (DL and Niki sacrificed themselves for the boys) only to be chased by some strange men dressed in black and then separated.
The two were reunited at an orphanage in Germany. Micah feels like he has to be his parents' legacy now. A burden for a young man. This spawned the birth of Rebel - Micah's alias to help those with abilities fight the corrupt government.
Volume 4
Micah lost both of his parents in August 2009 when the government had an evolved woman bring down a building.
The following tabs contain further information about Micah. If you see anything in here that I got wrong, or needs to be updated let me know. And if I need to add you, let me know that as well.

Originally didn't trust Charlotte, but Charlotte has been growing in Micah's esteem, especially since she managed to reunite him with his mother and then take him to Germany to reunite him with Cam. Seems to treat Micah like her child.

Dad. See mom.
His Aunt? Looks like his mom, sounds like his mom, but not his mom. So confusing. Regardless the two met at the airport in DC and while she was a traitor, she proved herself good in the end after freezing Max's arm off.
A family friend and a woman who had visited the family in Niagara Falls; wasn't into violent means to discourage bullies.

Micah and Cam contacted Tracy to pick them up for the airport. She sold them out, of course, she didn't know it was them. Tracy effectively got the pair caught by the Alpha Protocol, although she did freeze Max Swan's arm off. After that her and Micah's relationship has become somewhat strained.
Responded to Rebel's text about Peter Petrelli. Seemed bent on revenge against the guy who threw the helicopter on Peter.
Phoned Rebel following the text about Peter Petrelli. Doesn't appear to trust Tracy despite being good friends with Niki…
Responded to Rebel's text about Peter Petrelli. Wants to help with the rescue mission.
Rebel helped Joel apprehend a duplicator suspect who'd done some horrid things.
Stole Charlotte's body. Not good. But after she gave it back she was really nice to Micah and Cam, even offering to make them sandwiches. Micah had planned on helping her find a new identity and the like except Charlotte took her away. Shortly thereafter Micah and Cam ran to the USA to save Peter Petrelli.
Caught Micah and Cam along with a bunch of agents in black. Both were shot with these darts that made their powers stop working. Max is obviously not a good guy: he landed a helicopter on Peter and now this. On the plus side, Tracy froze his arm off… well she froze it and he pulled away.
Visited Cam and Micah in the Human Resources room in Building 26 and insisted that he would find a way to get the pair out.
Micah met Jamie at the Orphanage in Germany and together the two decided to make a video to let the secret out…

Responsible for Niki and D.L.'s deaths, Micah has only met Jensen once and at the time thought he was a paramedic. Since then he's come to know that Jensen is a bad man who few know anything about.
The following text message was sent last night following the train rescue to all contacts in Peter's cell phone book. As per usual Rebel style, the message is in all caps.
PETER PETRELLI HAS BEEN CAUGHT. HE WAS HIT BY A HELICOPTER AND RETRIEVED BY A GOVERNMENT AGENT.
BEWARE ANY CONTACT FROM HIS CELLPHONE AS IT MAY BE GOVERNMENT AGENTS ATTEMPTING TO ENTRAP ALL OF YOU.
DO NOT CALL HIS PHONE OR THEY MAY TRACK YOU. CONTACT ME AS NEEDED.

All of Charlotte's contacts (powered and non-powered alike) received this text message last night.
BEWARE CHARLOTTE CORDAY. SHE LOOKS LIKE HERSELF AND SOUNDS LIKE HERSELF, BUT IS NOT HERSELF, HER BODY IS INHABITED BY SOMEONE DIFFERENT. SHE'S NOT TO BE TRUSTED UNTIL I TELL YOU OTHERWISE.
I'VE DELETED THE CONTACTS IN HER PHONE SO ONCE CHARLOTTE IS BACK TO NORMAL, YOU WILL NEED TO RESEND YOUR INFORMATION TO HER. KEEP HOPE.

Shortly after 1 PM in the afternoon (DC time), the following text went to Rebel's contacts (you'd be one such contact if he's texted you in the past personally).
FRIENDS,
IF YOU'RE RECEIVING THIS TEXT IT MEANS ME AND MY ASSOCIATE HAVE BEEN COMPROMISED IN OUR EFFORTS TO RETRIEVE PETER PETRELLI. DO NOT TRUST FURTHER TEXTS FROM ME UNLESS I HAVE BEEN RETRIEVED FROM BUILDING 26 (SEE CASS ALDRIDGE FOR DETAILS) OR CONTACT YOU VIA MY REAL IDENTITY. MY NAME IS MICAH SANDERS. MY PARENTS WERE NIKI AND DL; I'M 13 YEARS OLD. MY COHORT IS CAM REYNOLDS, HE'S 14. CONTINUE THE REBELLION!

"Peter got hit by a helicopter!! A freak-ing HELICOPTER!" Micah sputters still in disbelief. "It was like horrifying but super cool at the same time. Like it hit him and then exploded on him!" to Cam in Small Rebellion
"Do you mean am I super strong or can walk through walls? Not that I've noticed. Although I've never tried lifting a car or walking through a wall. Just doesn't seem like a smart thing to do," to Charlotte in Micah's a Little Liar.
"We make mistakes, but that doesn't make us monsters," Micah observes as he bites his lower lip. "They're gifts. I've learned to control my ability, and hopefully am learning when to use it. I've used it badly before, but I do better. Everyday I do better," to Tracy in Where Democracy Has Failed.
"I'm glad you're with me, Cam. You're the Sam to my Frodo," to Cam in The Sam to My Frodo.
