What is the "Be A Hero" Campaign?
It's a way to give back to the world, in the spirit of heroes everywhere: to be more than a game, to go beyond text, and to make a difference. The first nonprofit we're supporting is the Epilepsy Foundation — you can read all about it on the site, where more info about the campaign is, as well! A permanent link will be placed on Heroes MUSH: Revolutions on the wiki to be easily accessible any time.
The Details
Since this is brand new for us, we're still in the "testing the waters" stage. If it goes over well, we can branch out in the future and players can choose what charity to support, etc. Who knows where it'll go! It is, of course, completely optional. You can give if you *want* to, or not, as you wish! You can donate as much or as little as you like. The amount isn't shown on the page, and you can put whatever you want as your display name — or keep it Anonymous! Don't feel bad if you can't participate right now: just being here, you're a part of something special.
How Does It Work?
It's supery easy: you just go to our fundraising page (the link above), hit "Give Now" and follow the instructions. FirstGiving.com takes a small percentage of the donation to help run the site, but it's pretty reasonable; it's for a good cause and they make it safe, secure and easy for anyone to donate. Voila!
