Samantha Dayan is an Evolved physician living in what is left of Manhattan after the bomb. Though publically employed by Mount Sinai Hospital as an on call physician, she secretly works as a medic for the Alliance and helps run the Bat Country clinic in an effort to help her fellow Evolved.
History
Samantha's history is similar to that of her 2007 incarnation up until the point of marriage to her boyfriend, Namir Dayan some time after the bomb went off. When the pogrom against the Evolved began, Namir helped Sam to help her mother gain Israeli citizenship in order to leave the US, while they remained behind.
Samantha still holds a position in the remnants of Sinai, but now primarily functions as an independent doctor on call. Secretly she helps to run the clinic for Evolved under Cass known as Bat Country, and has been known to serve as a field medic when the Alliance has required it. As Namir went deeper and deeper into his own efforts in the Alliance and reacted in an over-protective fashion about Samantha's, the pair gradually became estranged. Sam still works with Namir through the Alliance, with him popping into her life as needed for medical assistance as the pair maintain a tenuous relationship.

- Samantha and her best friend Bekah currently reside in the apartment Sam and Namir originally got in 2007 when they first moved in together. Samantha knows it irritated Namir to be "kicked out of his house", which in turn greatly amuses her.
- By 2009, Samantha is well trained in Krav Maga as well as firearms. She never leaves the house unarmed, and in fact carries a gun that she and Namir went shopping for together.
