Subway Espionage

A Subway Car

With so many random people crowding the subways it is only to someone's advantage to use them as meeting places and on one such train that just happened to be the case. Walking down the line of moving railcars, Tyson Harris casually eyes each individual he passes, helping them get out of his way with great subtlety. He almost seemed to be looking for someone but the probability of that happening seemed at zero as he entered the last car.
-
Quinn is already there, though it is hard to tell, except for those used to the way the singer operates. There's the 'tell' she puts on her persona, in this case a rather plain looking, grumpy middle aged woman with faded blonde hair tied back in a raggedy pony tail and wearing grungy sweats, carrying a bag from the local mega-mart, filled with junk food. Around the pony tail is a sparkly pink bow, a festive touch for her, and one that Tyson was told to look for, as well as a phrase to use.
-
There could only have been so many people on the subway to fit what Tyson thought to be eccentricity and having been through the long line of cars, he decided to take a seat next to one of them. "Hello there!" He begins, speaking to a fairly young teenager with a perm and a tie-dye shirt, "Did you see that rainbow earlier? God, you'd think there were never colors before… I'm waiting to find that leprechaun? You know."

The girl looked back at Tyson with a look like she did not understand a word while having been insulted at the same time before leaving the car, probably to go report a creep, passing the woman with her bags almost to say 'good luck'.
-
Quinn casts a peering glance back. Supposedly to check on the 'creep' who'd use such a weird pickup line. She walks back toward the man, and, brows raised, and voice having a gravelly sound of a long time smoker, with a distinct city Bronx accent, not so fun to listen to, she says, "I wouldn't look too hard. I think they all moved back to Ireland. The booze is better." Yes, that's the answer you were led to expect.
-
"To hell with them, then. I was going to give them the gold back but instead I'll share it with you." Tyson went on until he really did not know what to say. From there, he simply folded the area around the area so light waves would still hit them, but that sound waves would not pass from their immediate area. "Okay, I'm gonna guess you're the one I want. You can trust me- Spaceman; and nobody else can hear us right now thanks to why I've got that name."
-
Quinn nods, saying quietly, "Glad to hear it." she takes a breath, then says, "Did it work, are you in?"
-
"Yup, offered me a spot on security with administered testing, should I accept…" Tyson recalled, "I mean, sure they were curious about what I was doing there in the first place but they seemed convinced with my earnestnessness- whatever, I'm in."
-
Quinn nods, chuckling. "I'm really glad that worked. It took some effort to do something that badly.. and not get anyone caught. That's actually pretty hard to rig, you know."
-
The look of someone with some guilt over takes Tyson's face, "Yeah… though some people didn't. Berk, for one." Something of a smirk shows on his face, before melting to a grimace, "Really. I just wish I would have stayed off their radar a while longer. Now it's me they're going to be looking at." He sighs, looking back at the woman Quinn was at the moment. "I guess this means we can get started then. I mean, we should definitely take some time before initiating a front, but now we have to make sure have the numbers. I mean, that's what happens now, right?"
-
Quinn nods as she says, "Of course. That's the whole point. We have an inside man.." she nods to you, "We have operatives.." she smiles at that, "And a communication system. Once we have a fuller understanding of what we are dealing with.." she sombers at that, intensity showing as she shifts, without a pause, into her actual appearance for the moment, "we will then know how to act."
-
"I can't be every where though." Tyson admits, "Chances are they'll try not to let me be a lot of places. Popping in and out like I do is hardly even subtle. I bet they have genetic scans of all employees for identification so even you won't be able to fool them if they really want. Like this…" He starts to drift off in thought, "I won't be on the line with you guys for a while. Can't get caught getting in fights with thugs peddling drugs to kids. I heard Detroit is getting worse. A kid in the high school I went to apparently blew up half the football field, he was Boosting."
-
Quinn shakes her head, sighing. "This is just escalating like crazy. I'm doing some work on the street, working on that side of things." she offers. "It isn't much, to stem the tide. More like dipping water out of the ocean, but we can only do what is possible."
-
"I agree." Tyson nods even though it made him sick to do so. "I just-" He thought about something, another grimace. "I think I know what we need to do next. We'll get off at the next stop…"

The remains of the Brawler's Headquarters

The subway stops as expected but when people around them started getting off, Tyson remains sitting holding onto Quinn, indicating her to do the same. This is until most of the people had exited and when Tyson decides to shift his ability from simply restricting the sound from moving away from them to holding everyone in place while he pulled Quinn and himself through space several times faster than he would have been able to years ago to the still ruined remains of the Brawler's Headquarters.

It is night now, and the darkness seems to accentuate how barren and lifeless the place had become. Most of the walls are still up, but there seems to be no use for the place. "This is what I wanted to show you." Tyson says with such a serious nature.
-
Quinn keeps holding on during this, then her eyes widen, as she says, "Whoa, that is.. a /very/ neat trick." she says, breathless with a touch of wonder. Then she frowns as she glances around, "Oh, what is this?" she looks over, "Or should I say what was it?"
-
"The Brawler's Headquarters…" Tyson acknowledges with a slow from where they stood just on the inside of the door. A large ring with a metal cage toppled onto it resides a good distance away from the pair and almost by some hypnotic hold over him, Tyson takes a step and is all ready standing on top of the cage. "I used to own it… I guess I still do." He now looks back towards Quinn, moonlight catching his eyes from through the large hole in the ceiling giving him an eerie impression. "I think that means we can do whatever we want here, don't you?"
-
Quinn gives a slow look around, herself. She walks toward the cage, nodding, "I imagine it does, really." her eyes turn toward you, "What did you have in mind?"
-
Tyson turns around to face Quinn and sits down on top of the cold metal, "It used to be a place to let out some frustration. Fights. Dancing. Stuff like that but, I don't think we're going to be getting much time for fun any time soon." Gripping the coolness that had at least stopped one person from flying off, Tyson then begins to make his way down to the ring mat. "So, a headquarters seems more appropriate, huh?"
-
Quinn nods to that. 'Yes, that could be useful.' she finds a seat on some marginally flat surface, surveying the property. "That could mean a lot of things. We could keep it looking this way, make some sort of space beneath the rubble to meet. We'd have to be careful entering, but there'd be some advantages. Or rebuild, and have some kind of cover for what's really going on there."
-
Quinn's suggestion reaches Tyson as something he has never thought of before, even though it was the simplest solution ever. "All of those are really good ideas…" He nods, reaching the mat and testing its springyness a moment. There was give, meaning it couldn't be used now. "I do have some interesting associates, I guess. How about we brainstorm on the actual building? I'm thinking we go into the Security bracket."

For a good deal of time then then rest of the night they made plans. Having Quinn around did much for helping the visualization process of the actual structure and, if Tyson had his way…, he'd get to brawl again.
