Gabriel 'Sylar' Gray is a serial killer wanted by the FBI, who has moved throughout the country stealing other evolved human's abilities to take for himself. He is currently in New York City, taking advantage of the city's vast population to seek out other evolved humans to kill and steal abilities from, growing more powerful with each power he takes. His current whereabouts in the city are unknown.

History

The only information really known about Sylar is that he was once the son of a watchmaker, and he always wanted to feel 'special' or 'different' from those around him. The watchmaker's son became a watchmaker, and it wasn't until he discovered that he could use his intuitive aptitude for darker purposes that he become a serial killer, killing and taking other evolved human's powers which has lead him to believe in his twisted superiority over others.

February 28th - She's Leaving Home: Sylar drops in on Mohinder and Molly for an unexpected visit, but he has very expected demand of Mohinder.
February 28th - Fixing a Hole: The continuation of She's Leaving Home, Sylar forces Mohinder and Molly to the doctor's lab, where Noah and Hiro show up, throwing a wrench in Sylar's plans.

March 4th - It's Really Not a Tumor: Sylar meets Detective Damaris for the first time, and deduces she's seeing Mohinder because she has an ability. What was supposed to be a simple chat turns sour for the killer.
March 5th - Unprofessional: Following his arrest, Sylar is interrogated by Judah and Damaris.
March 6th - Let's Play A Game: This time around, detective Damaris chooses to interrogate Sylar on her own. A bad mistake.
March 8th - Game Over: Mara decides she wants to go another round with Sylar. An even worse mistake.
March 10th - Cat and Mouse: Having been released from prison, Sylar immediately hunts down that which he wants most. Claire Bennet's blood.
March 11th - Destiny - Beginning of the End: From the failure at the Petrelli mansion, Sylar finds himself broken in an alley… but unexpected help arrives.
March 17th - Destiny - Posturing: Kellie and Sylar show just how twisted two psychopaths can be when teamed up together.
March 24th - Destiny - Plan B: The plan is set into action, and Sylar and Kellie go after Molly Walker.
March 26th - Destiny - Hostage Situation: Sylar and Kellie force Mohinder to do his work, but soon realize they'll need further help if Sylar wants his cure.

May 5th - Never Have Time To Fall: Sylar gets another brand new ability, one that should prove fun.

Intuitive Aptitude

Intuitive aptitude is the superhuman ability used to analyze complex systems and intuitively understand how they work without special education or training. Sylar has learned to use this power to determine how other anomalistic abilities work, and uses this to his advantage to steal other's powers and use them for himself.

Acquired Abilities

Telekinesis (stolen from Brian Davis)

• The ability Sylar displays the use of most. This ability allows Sylar to move almost anything, assuming it isn't too large. Cars, people, books, shelves, chairs, couches, you name it, he can move it. He has also been known to use this ability to stop bullets. Sylar's method of killing his victims stems from this ability, in which he uses it to told them against a wall or some other solid surface, while at the same time slicing their skull open horizontally to grant him access to the victim's brain, after which he can utilize his intuitive aptitude to steal their power.

Cryokinesis (stolen from an unknown source)

• The ability to rapidly lower the air temperature around him, Sylar has shown varied uses of this ability. He used it to evade law enforcement by leaving a long patch of ice on the highway, and also used it to kill James Walker at the kitchen table, freezing the man from top to bottom.

Pamnesia (stolen from Charlie Andrews)

• Superhuman memory, this ability grants Sylar the power to memorize anything he sees, and never forget it.

Liquefaction (stolen from Zane Taylor)

• The ability to liquify objects. With this ability Sylar can cause almost any object solid to melt, from pots and pans to phones. It's mostly used on smaller objects, although with enough practice and concentration, larger objects can be melted as well.

Superhuman Hearing (stolen from Dale Smithers)

• Although this ability gave the serial killer trouble at first, he now has it honed somewhat, at least to the point where he can eavesdrop on conversations from afar, and pick up near-silent sounds in any room he's currently in. This ability can also be used to hear things miles away (although he hears more ambient noise than anything in that case), but if he is close enough to people, and can see them, the ability can be used to eavesdrop on them. Dale Smithers, the mechanic who he stole the ability from, said she was able to use it to listen to people's hearts and determine if their lying. Whether or not Sylar has as much control of the power as Dale did is unknown.

Precognition (stolen from Isaac Mendez)

• Stolen from a painter, Sylar can use this ability to enter a trance of sorts, in which the future is shown to him. While he is in this trance he must have some sort of utensils to paint a picture with, as this is the only way he can keep a record of the future he's seeing. The majority of the time this means canvas and painting utensils, although at one point he used the blood of his own mother, who he accidentally killed, to paint a picture of the bomb exploding in New York City. Not as talented of an artist as Mendez, Sylar's paintings are crude, but not crude to a point where the message doesn't get across.

Radiokinesis (Induced Radioactivity) (stolen from Ted Sprague)

• This ability allows Sylar to take in and give off radiation, with no harmful effects to himself. He has it under control to the point where he doesn't give off any radiation unless he's willing. He can use this power to concentrate the induced radioactivity into short bursts, most often collecting it in the palm of his hand and causing it to explode outward, causing both force to be expended on the object, and burn damages as well. The severity of the burns and force expended depend on how much power Sylar puts behind it.

Invisibility (stolen from Allan Murphy)

• The power to bend light rays around his body and become invisible to the naked eye, Sylar uses the ability to hide from his victims and taunt them before murdering them. He's not averse to using it to escape should the need arise. Sylar can use this ability to become completely invisible, including his clothing. The only way for a person to see Sylar when he is invisible is to either become invisible themselves (such as Claude or Peter) or use thermal imaging equipment. Any sound Sylar makes, whether it's talking, footsteps, or bumping into something is also a way to detect his presence when he is invisible.

Aerokinesis (stolen from Marilou, Claudine's sister)
