Diminutive, adorable, a siren's voice, Tabitha is the darling of stage and a musical star.
History
First off, Tabitha Tempest is not her real name. She was born Carlene Myers. Hrm. That name doesn't look too good in lights now does it? Her parents were simple folk who called Shawnee, Oklahoma their home. What a humble beginning so far! From an early age Carlene showed a flair for theatrics. Whether it was showing off at family gatherings or performing in the latest school play, Carlene loved being in front of a crowd. The applause, the adulation, she was all over that. She had the makings of a star, and not some one hit wonder pop sensation either. Carlene required no vocal training. Her relative pitch was damn near perfect from the start. She even showed a knack for playing the piano with little instruction.
With her talent, she won herself a full scholarship to Juilliard, but wound up turning it down when she landed herself a part in a Broadway show. Knowing that her name just didn't look right on the playbill, she decided to take on a stage name and Tabitha Tempest was born. Tabitha, in homage to her favorite show 'Bewitched', and Tempest, well, why not? It has a snap to it! From day one, she proved to be a sensation on stage and off. Her career took off and the sky was the limit. She landed leading roles on Broadway, branched out to film, recorded her own albums. Her efforts have won her a small collection of Grammies and Tony's.
For the past decade, her career has shown no signs of stopping. However, Tabitha as she now answers to, has decided to slow the pace a little. She's taken a ritzy apartment in New York, close to Broadway and is opening her own little jazz nightclub, '14G'. Happily single, her living space is graciously shared with her white Persian cat, Glinda.
She has no clue that she has this amazing musical ability. Why should she attribute her talent to some higher evolution? Some people are just born with talent. Right?
