A transplant to New York City from Austin Texas. T.C. was a bookworm of a child who is rapidly growing into a bookworm of an adult. He is a quiet, somewhat geeky pre-med student at Columbia University.
History
T.C. was raised in an upper-middle-class home in Austin, Texas, the second of three adopted children. With a college biology professor for a father and an oncologist for a mother, academics were always stressed over almost everything else in their home. His parents were happy so long as their children did well in school and stayed out of trouble, and T.C. certainly did /that/. He was an exceedingly bright child, quick to learn, with a steel-trap memory and discipline enough to apply himself rigorously to his studies, and from a very young age he excelled in class — math and science, especially. He applied himself to his work far more than his social life — he was a quiet child, bookish and shy; he never quite got the hang of making friends.
Choosing to immerse himself in studies rather than social life was a bit of a trade-off; he graduated high school two years early and headed off to New York City to start college, armed with a good deal more knowledge than the average sixteen year old but a good deal less in the way of social skills. He has spent his time in the city learning to navigate life on his own. Sometimes, he is even successful at it.
Abilities
T.C. is an electrokinetic, with the power to absorb, store, and release electrical energy. His body leeches electricity from whatever source it can pull it from — outlets, static in the air, electrical appliances, etc. The electricity that he steals is stored in his body until he releases it, either inadvertently or on purpose. He can do this in small doses, which allows him to power electrically-powered applications (or disrupt their functioning), or he can do this on a bigger scale, which allows him to expel anything from tiny static shocks to dangerous blasts of lightning — which, admittedly, could also disrupt electric applications, but that function is secondary to the damage they can do overall to life and property. T.C. cannot be harmed directly by electric shocks or electric attacks, as his body will simply absorb the energy.
Timeline
Trivia
- T.C. has two pets that he keeps (illicitly) in his dorm room; a panther chameleon named Leeuwenhoek and a ball python named Casanova.
- The longer T.C. accumulates energy without releasing it, the more it pushes his system into overdrive; it leads to hyperactivity and accelerated brain function and he can go for days without sleep, but it is extremely unhealthy and will result in a comatose state if he overloads.
- T.C. is an inveterate bibliophile. Books are his worst addiction.
- Magic cards are his second worst.
