Erin confronts KeLyssa about running off.

"Un-cohesive"

Secret Apartment

It's been a week or so since KeLyssa snuck off for the day. She hasn't been out since, but she's gotten the feeling that some people aren't happy with her choice to leave even for that one day. It's not her fault though! Honest! She's not the kind of person who can just sit around a place for days on end and do nothing. She already did that at the AP. She had to get out and do SOMETHING. It's cruel to keep her stuck inside, really. Cruel and unusual.

Today, Lyssa's hanging around the lounge area, reading a book that she found…for the third or fourth time through. She's honestly lost count, really, of how many times she has read it.

—-

Erin has been learning a lot from Cody lately— Patience being among those things. The ability to search introspectively and find that inner calm that she— Okay, that's bullshit. Erin can only maintain any sort of calm for so long before she wants to punch babies.

She can, however, channel her anger into something more productive.

After ignoring KeLyssa almost completely for the better part of the week, she appears behind the chair in which the girl is sitting, and leans over it. "Hey. You. C'mon." Grabbing the book, snapping it shut, and chucking it across the room, Erin heads to the excersise area, motioning for KeLyssa to follow. "You're not gonna be happy if I have to ask again!" she calls over her shoulder.

—-

KeLyssa looks up as the book is snapped from her grasp, she looks up. "HEY! I was readin' that! That was uncalled fer!" She sighs and stands, following Erin to…well, wherever it seems she's leading her to. "What's goin' on?" She asks as she follows toward the exercise area.

—-

"Lots of uncalled for shit goin' on around here lately," Erin muses to herself, loud enough for KeLyssa to hear. Upon reaching the exercise area, she picks up one of the sticks from the other side of the room and hefts it, as if testing its weight. Notably, she doesn't bring two over - just the one. At first, it seems like she's going to beat the other woman soundly with it… But then, she just hands it over. "Here. Hold this for a sec."

As she holds out the stick, she also reaches into her pocket, pulling out a piece of paper, which she also hands over. "Written on there is an address of the nearest AP agent I could find. I want you to go there, to that place, and tell them where the warehouse is, and that all their dead prisoners are living here. But first."

She smooths the imaginary wrinkles from the front of her shirt. "I want you to beat me to death with that stick. 'cuz when the AP comes for us all 'cuz you're being a moron, I don't wanna see it."

—-

KeLyssa furrows her brow. "What the hell're ya talkin' 'bout? Ifin I were ta go ta any agent's place, I ain't never gonna tell 'im where this place is! I'm gonna kill 'im m'self ifin I kin!" Crossing her arms, she frowns. "And ain't no way I'm gonna be beatin' ya with no stick! Why the hell'd I do that! I ain't got no problem with ya!"

—-

"Because what you did - running off without tellin' any of us where you were going - put us all in danger," Erin says. "I don't care how careful you are, or were, I don't know you from a random hobo on the street. Maybe you were one of those people who fought the AP tooth and nail while you were in there. Maybe you were onna those sell-outs who let themselves be collared like a bitch so you could sleep in a nice, comfy bed at night. Until I know you, though, and until I know you're not gonna rat me or the others out, you KEEP. YOUR. ASS. HERE."

—-

KeLyssa scoffs. "Ya can't jus' keep me locked like some sorta common criminal! That's jus' what the AP would've done! I ain't gonna jus' sit 'bout, locked up 'round in here." She frowns and furrows brow. "I was one've the ones who was layin' in bed all sick like 'cause o' the adverse effects o' the ability suppression. An' I don' care 'bout who you are too well neither, bu' I ain't got no reason ta be trustin' ya neither! Fer all I know, ya could be one who'd sell me out. I don' know. What I do know is that I ain't lettin' you tell me where I kin go an' when! 'Specially when I only went one day and I ain't bin out since!"

—-

Erin - to her credit - is quiet through KeLyssa's whole argument. It's a good argument. Sound. "None of us want to be kept here like criminals. None of us are. What if something happened to you though, huh? We'd have no leads, nothing to follow to get you back. Then what? You gonna take care of yourself like you were the first time they caught you?"

Her eyes narrow. There's not just anger there, though. These people? Erin might actually care for them, even if it's just a little. "You wanna go out, then you prove to us that you're going to be careful. And yeah, I have every right to demand proof. You know how you got outta there? Me." She'll take credit, at least this time. "My idea, my plan, my virus. I did it 'cuz no one deserved to be locked up in there. This world isn't like what you're used to, though. No one with a power is free. We're— " She hesitates to say family. In fact, she skirts around it completely. "Some… sort of… cohesive unit here. Keep this cohesive unit thing safe."

—-

KeLyssa laughs, scoffing. "Look! M'jus' as trustworthy as you claim ta be! Yeah, ya got me an' others out, bu' who's ta say I kin trust ya if ya ain't willin' ta trust me none?! Hah! Well, ain't that jus' a joke as I ever heard!" She shakes her head angrily. "Nah, I ain't gonna take none o' that from ya. I ain't stupid. I know m'self, an' I know I kin be trusted. Bu' if ya're gonna throw 'round this suspicion an' distrust, well I ain't gotta take none o' it!"

—-

Erin's tolerance only goes so far. All she asked was for KeLyssa to stop running around. "What is the problem with all you people? Seriously. You're all being god damned fucking bitches, and the only thing we ever did was try to protect you. You know what, fine. I'm done. If you all want to have a bug up your asses about house rules and go on believing that you'll be fine on your own, then… Fine. You're not living here. You have about ten minutes to get what you have, and you're gone. I'm not going to have this place compromised because you have to be a little snot."

—-

KeLyssa narrows her eyes. "You know what? Fine. I'm gone. And you know what? I don't need time to pack. I've got all I need on me right now! Goodbye!" She nearly shouts, making her way angrily toward the door.

—-

From outside the front door, Cody hears the yelling and she considers just pivoting on her foot and making her way to one of her other apartments but something stops her. Those special little words.. I'm gone. Slowly, she puts her large black case onto the floor beside the door and pulls a guns from inside of her jacket pocket. From a pocket in her cargo pants, she plucks a silencer and calmly begins to twist it on.

It doesn't take long for her to get the door unlocked, especially not with the aid from inside and when she spies the doorknob turning and hears the click of the bolt, she rears her leg back and delivers a very hard kick to the door.

—-

KeLyssa is nearly at the door when it's kicked open. She hardly cares, though. She stops abruptly, however, crossing her arms. "Always gotta make an entrance, don'tcha? Gotta do somethin' spectacular. Well, ifin ya'll 'scuse me, I'm leavin'." She says firmly and angrily, starting on her way around Cody. If she's looked closely at, it'll be seen that there's a thin layer of ice covering her visible skin.

Fwip Fwip Fwip

The gun? It's full of the formula absconded from Building 27 and Alpha Protocol, though she doesn't have that much left, Cody does keep enough on her to protect herself in case of emergencies. There's no tranquilizer mixed in, though, so KeLyssa is treated to a rather healthy dose of her own powers slipping away, while she's still awake.

"One, you are not going anywhere on your own. You've already proven too stupid to stay safe." The former agent steps forward two paces before swiftly bringing her fist forward to the princess' nose. There's a crack and should she not fall down, Cody reaches forward again to grab her by the arm.

"Two, I'm going to call someone to pick you up so you don't get the rest of us caught. You've got too much of an attitude little Missy. You'd think that you'd be a little bit grateful for not having a collar around your neck. You don't want to be here? Fine, but you are sure as hell not going to upset Erin, Matt, or Alexandra and maybe cause the end of the world as we know it." There's a feral growl to Cody's words as she drags KeLyssa to a chair.

—-

Besides the obvious breaking of the nose, ice chips break off and fall to the group, quickly melting in the warm room tempurature when they are not in contact with KeLyssa. "Ow!" When the hand firmly graps her arm, her free hand automatically reaches grabs hold of Cody's hand, her own hand feeling freezing. "Hey…if I'm leavin' here, I'm leavin' here fer good. Or are you gonna do your li'l 'Protocol' thing an' lock me up, pump me with drugs, an' make sure I ain't got nowhere ta go? M'sure ya've got other places ta do that ta keep me other'n here! I mean, that is whatcha do best, ain't it?" She shakes her head. "Nah, I'm leavin' an' I'm leavin' fer good an' I ain't comin' back."

—-

The former agent's hair winds out quickly and wraps around the young woman's neck in a strangle. "Three, you're going to calm the hell down… because guess what?" Cody pauses as she leans forward to the girl and gives her a rather dangerous smile. "I don't need to keep you pumped full of drugs if I think you're going to be a danger to me, the people in this apartment, or this country. I can just pump a bullet into your head." The length of hair squeezes around KeLyssa's throat, slowly cutting off her air supply. Not enough to break her neck, not just yet. "You know what else? Officially… you're already dead… killing a corpse doesn't have a jail sentence attached to it."

—-

KeLyssa starts to choke and grasp for air. "S…st…st…" Her free hand flies to the hair around her neck. "Ne…ne…air…stop!" She struggles in her seat. "P…p…please. Need…air."

—-

The hair lets up just enough to allow the woman to breathe, "Are you going to calm down?" Cody is completely calm, eerily so. Reaching out with her free hand, she pulls a chair to sit in front of KeLyssa, still keeping a tight vice around her neck. "Now, I know you hate me and I really don't care. But you're going to understand what's at stake here."

With her gun still trained on the other woman, the blonde slowly pulls a phone from her pocket and begins to dial. She pauses for a moment while the line rings and finally… "Strauss, get over here and pick up Ghallager before I kill her." Then she hangs up.

"I don't know how much you've absorbed into your little noggin, but you were going to be sold to a terrorist who lives in Saudi Arabia." She fumbles around to the other side of her pants to pull a small notebook from her cargo pocket. "I know that I had a hand in putting you in, but you were going to get caught anyway. The fact that I was there .. doesn't matter. What matters? You're not still wearing a collar and in a crate on your way to the middle east."

—-

KeLyssa takes in as deep breaths as possible when the hair lets up a bit. In still just as angry a voice, she says, "I won't be calm and happy until I'm under a different roof than you." She spits. "And I won't be happy 'till people who want nothing more than to hurt us are gone an' dealt with!"

—-

"Notice I said calm… I don't give a shit about you being happy right now. Right now, you're a danger to me and everyone living under this roof." KeLyssa's second point? That gets a laugh out of Cody for perhaps the first time all day. "Okay, while we're at it, we'll just take out all the wife beaters and KKK members in Alabama or wherever the hell you're from. Grow up, little girl, you're have a power that scares people. You are never going to be left alone by people who want to hurt you. So you can either learn how to deal with it without throwing a temper tantrum like a spoiled little princess, or I can choke the shit out of you. Your choice."

—-

KeLyssa glares at Cody. At the moment, it's probably better if she just keeps her mouth shut. She doesn't trust herself to speak at the moment. She might just dig herself deeper into a hole…or hair-choke. So for the moment, she just glares, her anger bubbling under the surface.
